Everyone is tucked away from the warmth of the day, a surprising burst of it in the midst of the spring rains that have been falling. You've gathered in Dolan's sickroom, the meeting place to try and gather those that know something of the werewolves that have been attacking to speak to a representative of the Temple of Eluna changed last-minute to accommodate the still bed-ridden man.

Eventually a woman enters the room, an elvish one wearing regal robes that declare her a servant of Eluna. Her eyes are pale gray like the moon, and her hair a pale platinum blonde. Her age at first is difficult to determine in the way that an elf's age can be, but the little laugh lines around her eyes set her age at the higher end. She is followed into the room by a single guard.

Is it wizards who arrive when they only mean to, or sorcerers? Maybe both? Telamon came in just before the priestess did, his cloak hanging open and his hood thrown back. Dark, twinkling eyes that regard the others, as he steps out of the way, moving up against the wall to make room for others entering. He nods to Dolan and Andelena genially, inspecting the scarred man before he turns his eyes to the priestess and her escort.

It's not often that Ash of the Aavh clan gets all dolled up but she has today. As much as a black-scaled Sith-Makar can with her limited funds and means but, appearances are important at certain events! Her breastplate is polished to be reminiscent of the moons glow of silver in the midnight sky of her scales. Silver caps and rings tip and decorate her many horns like stars in the sky. Even the big blade she carries has been cleaned, sharpened, polished to be more decorative and the grip wrapped in silver leather. The black cloth elements to her outfit have been replaced with a dark blue. She looms taller than the rest in the room, but also graceful and whipcord slender. Not quite ethereal but... care has been taken to present an image.

Somehow Aavhash manages to keep control of her instincts for the time being and remain a silent observer other than the soft clicking of her toe talons on the floor. She follows the elven woman in and then as per her instructions stands off to the side. Emerald green eyes flick to the other individuals present. Watching. Stoic. Her job is a guard tonight and she means to do it right.

At the far side of the room, in the cot, rests a man who looks both improved and not from the last time certain people in the room saw him. Dolan's sitting up in the cot, blanket wrapped securely around him, leaning against a supporting Andelena. The prosthetic eye still replaced with an eyepatch that does little to conceal the furrows and acid scars across the right side of his face. The rest of him is quite pale, and the lights in the room are fairly dim, only partially concealing the dark circles and exhausted look in this unscarred side of his features. Between his hands, he's cradling a cup of astringent-smelling tea.

As the others file into the room, he shivers, but sits up a little more, looking alertly among those that enter. "Brightest of days, Telamon, Seer," he greets, sounding _horribly_ hoarse.

Lysos wasn't sure she was going to be here. Her current presence may, in fact, be a surprise to some. It's something of a surprise herself. But all of that previous talk of 'rising to face down evil' and 'keeping evil divided' had her feeling a bit guilty about following her first inclination and ducking out because she was in over her head.

She's still in over her head. But having reminded herself that since getting to this city, over her head has been a pretty standard state of affairs, Lysos squared her shoulders and came to this meeting, arriving shortly after Telamon, shortly after the seer and her escort. She squeezes in past the massive, armored sith-makar, then does her best to quietly find a place against a wall to sit upon a stool.. after offering waves and small smiles in recognition and greeting.

Andelena's steel-grey gaze shifts to her side as she looks at Dolan. The taller-than-most woman seems more than happy to be his human support, but she doesn't seem to care for the hoarseness in his voice. "Take it easier, hun," she murmurs, before her gaze flickers back to Telamon and Lysos--and then to the seer of Eluna and her escort. 

"Glad you could all make it here," Andelena says with a nod of acknowledgment. "Dolan's still on the mend--he's been dealing with fever, coughs, and nightmares in sleep over the past few days. But the man still wants to talk and I'm here to make sure he can get through this meeting."

The elvish woman nods politely to those in the room. Lysos last since her entry is slightly after. She glances toward the sith-makar following her and then offers a few words in a very polite voice. "You may call me Kimatsa." She smiles slightly. "Or Seer if you prefer. I am one of those that came to Alexandria from Llyranost of late, and though I came with the delegation, I had other reasons for doing so. Reasons I suspect align with your reasons for wishing to speak to someone of the Temple of the Sky-singer."

Telamon offers Dolan and Andelena a smile, as well as nodding to Lysos and to Aavhash. Stepping away from the wall, his hands clasped before him as he takes a breath. Inclining his head respectfully to the Seer. 

"Seer, it appears to me at least that there are things in motion beyond 'merely' an infestation of lycanthropy. The dreams of the Nightmare; the wound dealt to Eluna in the sky; the unsettling of the 'normal' order of things. I won't pretend to know everything -- I don't -- but I do wish for counsel in light of these events." He looks to the others. "I suspect they have similar sentiments."

When Lysos moves past her, Aavhash steps slightly to the side with a little lashing of her tail behind her before it stills. At least it doesn't crack like a whip. She doesn't add to any of the talking parts at all but focuses on others as they speak, trying to follow the topics, remember words that are strange to her, but most of it likely isn't going to stick. She simply listens, observes, and otherwise looms while not being in a way. It's difficult, but she does it.. but the glint of intelligence in her eyes often becomes muddled at the flood of information and names.

Dolan nods, quietly, clearly in full agreement with Telamon. "Kimatsa. Seer. I'm -" he pauses, "Dolan." He coughs, a harsh-sounding thing that clearly is unpleasant, and takes a sip of the tea in his hands. "I - also wanted to ask a favor," he adds, turning a brief, one-sided smile back at Andie behind him, and extending it to Telamon and Lysos as well. "Pretty sure that some for of - Caracoroth is behind all this."

Oh, right. That's what made it so she was in over her head. Lysos shrinks a little bit when reminded of just how close to the gods this is.. but then she visibly straightens when the others acknowledge her. "Seer Kimatsa.. I'm Lysos. I haven't seen as much as these others, but it feels like Dolan is right."

Andelena displays a brief moment of tenderness in that she gently rubs Dolan's back as he coughs, her eyes softening a little as she looks at him. "Bry, shhh, drink your tea. You're hardly in any condition to talk," she says, somewhat quietly. 

Her steel-grey gaze turns from Dolan to the seer. "I'm Andelena. Sunguard of Daeus. I'm also Dolan's partner, which means I act as both his bodyguard and his caretaker when he's injured, and he sure as shit is injured. --Pardon my language," she adds a beat later, which is a tad unusual for her to do. 

She reaches over to receive Dolan's sack. "Here's the favor that he's asking for..." 

And she produces an awful-looking statue from inside the sack. "Dolan wants this destroyed," she explains.

"Telamon, Dolan, Lysos, Andelena." She nods to each in turn and looks at them. "It is wise to seek council, and you are right to be concerned. There is a great deal more going on than the average man might know."

Here her eyes darken momentarily, like a cloud passing over them, and then she turns her attention to the statue. She outright frowns at the object, but makes no move to take it. "I can not destroy it." She says simply, offering no other explanation for the moment. "Each of you must now make a choice, if you wish to be involved in these concerns; or turn aside from them. The path you are headed toward is fraught with danger, and once you set out upon it... You may not be able to turn back." She looks at her guard. "This goes for you as well my guardian."

"One cannot live without danger. Such is the way of Am'Shere." Aavhash says in response without really giving the words due thought or considering. "If something threatens the Gods, that might cause the Deathdancer Vardama to call to them as partners it is either the natural way, or it is not. Either way my Elders would wish to know the truth of it." The 'guardian' in question speaks out, "Also, I have been hired to protect you Kimata. My acceptance of the job is the acceptance of risk. If you need further affirmation of choice, you have it." Aavhash inclines her head, muzzle dipping towards the slender slight curve of her breastplate before she straightens proudly again.

Telamon just shakes his head. "Better to choose than to be at the whims of circumstance. But I choose to confront the danger, rather than fear it at my back." His expression becomes resolute. "If there is some grace thus far, these werewolves are neither immortal nor indestructible. Their victims can be cured. Their plans, routed."

Tel rubs his chin. "What significance does this statue have? It's uglier than a mul'niessa tequila hangover, and Dolan has mentioned foul dreams ever since it came into his possession. If we can't destroy it easily, can it be contained?"

Both sides of Dolan's face twists at the news that the Seer cannot destroy it. "Who can?" he asks quickly, hoarsely, then nods to Telamon in a _what he said_ gesture. "I'm not running anywhere. I'm in too far to back out now, and this -" He pauses, coughing again. "This isn't going to go away if I just ignore it. I'm - seeing it through." He doesn't appear to be obeying Andelena all that thoroughly. "The dreams - they're getting worse."

Lysos can't help herself.. she pulls her gaze away from the hideous statue too look at the door when Kimatsa gives her 'last chance' warning. She'd made her decision earlier, or so she thought.. but having it spoke plainly puts it under a different light. But there are at least three bodies between her and the door. It's almost scarier imagining the looks she might get if she leaves. She can't decide if the courage the others are radiating helps her prop up her own bravery, or if it makes her apprehension all the sharper.. but in the end, she remains where she is. There's something about inaction that can sometimes make it a little easier. "I am in this. Good people need to see it to its end."

Similar to her Redeemer, Andelena's visibly a bit upset when the decree is made that the seer cannot destroy it. "Okay. So you can't destroy it. Why not? And of damn course I'm not backing out of this. My man's reeling from this shit. He's gotten chewed on like he's a puppy teething toy by these werewolves far too many times. I'm here to /end/ this." 

She looks back at Dolan again as he's very, very clearly not following directions, which is usually grounds for a big, fat, red 'zero' in the teacher's gradebook. Thankfully for him, she's not a teacher, but she can look at him a little disapprovingly like one. "Drink, Bry," she reminds him as she rubs his back again.

Kimatsa nods, accepting that each of you has made the choice to stay. "The statue is a relic, an ancient becon of power which holds Caracoroth in place. You see, he is not only bound to remain in the Abyss, but his power is further bound. The statues are... chains if you will, that bind him from doing harm to this world. But as you can see.... they are being twisted. Destroying the statue only returns it to the place from whence it came, a precaution to keep them separated by distance and to keep them from being used by Caracoroth's minions to gain power."

Her explanation makes a great deal of sense in retrospect, but does not explain everything. "These chains are made of his own power, and thus they are a connection to him through the nightmares that those that wield them are cursed with. They can be destroyed in the dream realm, where they exist more fully than they do in this world, but as I said - it only serves to return them to where they originate."

"The nightmares will grow as he grows. But they can not harm you. What will harm you, what will be the end of all of us... is if the minions of Caracoroth find Eluna's avatar." Her words fall like an anvil into the room.

Aavhash falls silent as she tries to follow the information but in a way she is more interested in the tone of the conversation, the expressions on all those faces which are so new to her. She doesn't really follow the bits about the gods or avatar's or things like that. Instead she asks, "Would destroying statue in dream realm release sick man from nightmares? It does no harm to what they are and do, sends home yes? Or must they be untwisted somehow?"

Telamon's eyebrows shoot up. "Eluna's -avatar-? Why... of course. The wound to the moon." He sighs, placing his hand over his brow. "I should have expected there to be repercussions beyond the obvious." 

He looks pointedly at Kimatsa. "She's somewhere in Alexandria, isn't she? That would explain the relentless attempts to spread lycanthropy. Force her to flee, flush her out."

He exhales. "Dolan, I might have a solution for you. Maybe. But I'm not sure if it'll work. And, of course, now we have a larger problem."

Properly chastened, Dolan obediently takes a long, slow sip of the mug in his hand , grimacing at the taste. He leans back into Andelena's supporting weight and uses his free hand to pull at the blanket wrapped around him, to pull it up more. "Look," he lowers the mug, "if that's a chain that holds Caracoroth, leave it. I'll deal with the dreams." Easier said than done, but knowing what it is at least makes it a little easier.

And then, the subject to Eluna's avatar comes up. "No, she's not," he tells Telamon with certainty. "Explains a damn lot," he mutters, then before Andie can chide him, takes another careful sip. "I know where we left her." He looks down at his lap, unaccountably thoroughly embarrassed. "I just hope she ain't mad."

Lysos's eyes grow fractionally wider. And wider. "I.. oh wow. So, wait.. wait.." Lysos holds up a hand, frowning a little bit in confusion. "So, is destroying the statues good for us, or bad? When it 'returns' them to where they originate, does it return them to their former state, too? The untwisted one? Because this twisting can't be good at all. Because maybe..." she trails off, the rest of Dolan's words sinking in. "HER? Where you LEFT HER?"

Any satisfaction that Andelena might feel from Dolan doing as he's told is eroded by the news of the seer. She maintains her steely gaze, as steeled as the color of her eyes, as the words "Eluna's avatar" are discussed. 

"Yes," Andelena replies, to Lysos. "She told us she was one of the fey, but we're pretty damn certain that 'Phyrelia', the 'fey witch', is the avatar of Eluna--and she's hiding in the fey lands. She appeared the same time that the chunk of the moon went missing and she had powers that, while Bry here and I aren't experts on... little fey shits, we're pretty fucking certain that they wouldn't have unless they're avatars of a goddess in disguise."

"We are uncertain where she is." Offers Kimatsa, looking toward Lysos. "As for the statue, destroying them or not is of little consequence unless they are... Completely destroyed. A thing which even I know not how to do. Doing so however would release the restraint upon Caracoroth and he would be eventually freed."

Lysos is not the only one surprised by the fact that Dolan seems to know where the avatar is. The woman blinks at him and moves a step toward him and Andelena even as the later explains the situation further. "A fae? It seems unlikely that Eluna would lie unless it were necessary... but it is possible that she knows not who she is. Either way... I beg you to seek her out and find her."

'Phyrelia the fey witch' is the 'avatar' of a 'goddess'. Not a dragon, so can't be a real goddess, but the Elders would still like to know this for their own disseminations most likely. Aavhash just looks at each person, and then to Lysos and then to the Seer. She bites back on it for as long as she can... she fidgets. Little clicking of her talons on the floor. Little tightening clatters of her nails on the pommel of her blade the she holds out in front of her. Eventually Aavhash just breaks a little and starts to laugh. Fortunately it's a soft sibilant little laugh that isn't loud or raucous, but her shoulders shake a little, her tail twitches at the tip until she gets it under control.

A faint, very faint incredulous tilt of her head at how serious all the others are being then Aavhash remembers she's her to be a guardian of a Seer of Elune, not to pass judgment or correct mistaken peoples.

So she doesn't.

Fortunately.

Telamon opens his mouth, and for probably the first time since he got here, he looks ... well, at a loss for words. Blinking slowly, he can't help but smile at Dolan and Andelena. "Now -that- would be a tale to hear. Suddenly I understand -why- you sent for me." He looks wry. "'Fey bullshit' does seem to be something I've become well acquainted with."

He looks at the others. "If Eluna's avatar has escaped to Quelynos, her chances are better than average. The fey are traditionally friendly to her, and the Seelie Court is more likely to offer her sanctuary." 

He looks to Kimatsu. "However, this state of affairs can't persist. How do we -fix- this?"

Lysos stares at Dolan and Andelena.. it seems like she doesn't even hear Kimatsa's response to her question. Then she gives herself a shake. Stop thinking about it. She looks at the elven seer, "So.. a bad idea, right. Okay. Just wanted to be clear. The number of times misunderstanding... Still sounds like something that needs to be fixed. But. I guess finding the goddess is more important." It is quite certain that Lysos has never, ever expected herself to say anything like that last sentence.

"If you know something about the fey, we need you, because I don't know shit about the fey." Dolan cracks half a smile at Telamon, then turns his whole head towards Lysos, to regard her. "Find her, and don't tell a damn soul that she even exists." He takes another long pull of the tea. It appears to be helping, but he drains it and turns his head back to stare into the bottom of the cup. "Let's start by finding her, and she might be able to help. Sorry," he adds to the Seer, cracking an apologetic grin. "Don't mean to be rude. Yeah, she dropped not to far into the mountains, we found her and had to escape into the portal she created for us when one of the werewolves found us."

Andelena looks for a long, long moment at Telamon, her jaw slack in the duration of that moment before she seems to remember how to speak again. 

"You mean to tell me that you're a bonafide fucking fey expert in addition to being a young shit and--" Her grey eyes narrow. "Don't tell me. Your little lady's fey or something. Dolan told me she's scary as shit. Gods, kid, the /fuck/." 

She shakes her head and sighs. "I really owe you a fucking apology. I totally thought you were just some jumped up kid and, well, fuck. Here we are. Sorry, Telamon." 

Andelena regains her senses and nods to Dolan's explanation. "Yup. She brought us into the fey lands and transported us back home once she was ready. Only spent a few hours. Told us not to eat the food." 

Andelena takes one glance at Dolan's empty teacup and narrows her eyes again. He's gonna need a refill and that means flagging down a healer.

The woman nods at this. "I can not say why, but it seems that the group of you have been chosen. Perhaps all of us have been chosen; to be born in such illustrious years. Either way, I wish the blessings of the Sky-singer upon you. Surely she will offer them herself when you see her. If there is anything I can do to aid you while I remain in Alexandria, you need only come to the Temple and I will do what I can." She nods low to you again.

Aavhash doesn't have much to say at this point, the talk of werewolves at least has perked her interest, "Werewolves." She considers, "I must acquire good weapon for those." She considers more, "And shield, to prevent curse." A slight tightening of her eyes follows, "Expensive." Apparently funds are an issue at the moment. "I will help find this 'Goddess'," Her tone suggests it is /their/ goddess, not hers, or she disbelieves aspects of the story.

She looks at Andelena and her eyes widen a touch, "It is how the years are lived, now the number of years lived." She suggests at the outburst. "The young of my tribe could survive easily in our lands, not true for the wise from the paper lands, yes?"

Telamon furrows his brow. "The first course of action is to probably make sure the avatar is safe. She can probably remain in Quelynos for now, through the sunlit seasons." He rubs his chin. "I wonder... no. Let me work on that before I present it."

He grins widely at Andelena. "No offense taken. I -am- a jumped up kid -- well, twenty-two winters, I'm not really a 'kid' any more. Diplomat apprentice, sorcerer, adventurer..." His eyes soften a bit. "Betrothed," and it's clear -that- label means more to him than the other three.

"But yes. Cor'lana is strongly bound to the fey. It's complex, but suffice to say our education continues. You should come by our house. The garden is blooming, I can brew a good pot of tea, and there's a place down the street that sells wonderful cookies and scones." He pauses. "But...ah... don't drink anything the pixies offer you. It never turns out well."

For the first time, Dolan's full attention turns towards Aavhash, and he sits up fully with an effort, his smile fading. "You think you know an awful lot about people you just met and a city you just got to," he counters, starting to shift as if to get up and moving to set his mug aside. He seems to ignore Telamon and Andelena for the moment, focused on the sith-makar. 

Then, he looks back at the Seer again, and appears to visibly control himself, his jaw tight. "I will, thanks. I may seek your aid in banishing this damn illness, so we can find her quickly."

Lysos raises a finger and opens her mouth as Telamon mentions his age... then slowly closes it and lowers her hand as she things better. "Well. I suppose it wouldn't be the first time I met one of them," she says. "Er, the fey. Not a goddess." Her lowered hand moves to rub at her other wrist, instead. "Maybe it'd be a good idea for Telamon to give us a quick lesson on interacting with them, though." Then, afterthought. "Thank you Seer Kimatsa."

"You call a smart man a jumped up kid. I speak common wisdom even youths know. It is how we live our lives that determines our experience. Not how many years we have lived. Our lives teach us, it is how we learn. A forty year old baker is an excellent baker, but a person lived in the jungle for 10 years is much better equipped to survive the jungle, but may not be able to make a cake." Aahvhash says plainly and simply at Dolan, like she were educating a child. "It saddens me if this is not obvious to those who are intent to save, or protect, a goddess."

With that she turns her attention to Kimatsa, "If we are to discuss my participation in further events, will this be funded by your organization? If I am to fight werewolves then proper gear must be purchased. It is not bravery but foolishness to jump into a fight unprepared."
Andelena looks at Aavhash. "Well, with full compliments to your peoples--us softskin folks' kids tend to be... Kind of defenseless? And stupid? compared to the makari's hatchlings. I mean, I love kids, but I have to admit, it's kind of a fucking miracle ours live as long as they do to survive to adulthood. And you probably can't tell, but Telamon's about as smooth skinned as they come, which is a pretty clear indicator of how young he is. Hence why I've been calling him 'kid' all this time--and it turns out I'm wrong, so I owned up to my mistake and apologized. That simple." 

She holds up a hand as she looks down at Dolan. "And don't mind Bry. He's grumpy like someone shat in his oats because he's been rattled in the head by nightmare after nightmare. Miracle he's lucid and conscious. Anyway, I'll be back--I gotta get the kettle to pour Dolan another cup." 

She gets up and walks out of the room, returning very quickly afterwards with the kettle. Andelena pours Dolan another cup of tea and returns to supporting him.

The Seer looks around the room, feeling the tension rise and coughs quietly. "All that as it may be, best not fight amongst ourselves and make the work of evil that much easier. If you have no further use for me, I should be on my way."

Telamon places his hands together. "Peace upon you, Seer. With luck we will find the path. Do not fear." He casually steps forward into Aarvash's line of sight, and smoothly switches to Draconic. "Cool your blood, wing-sister. Our foes prosper when we bicker among ourselves." His accent is slightly odd to a native speaker, as he calmly switches back to Tradespeak. "This is not something that will be solved in an afternoon. Therefore... yes, I think Lysos's suggestion has merit."

He grins. "I'll need to collect books, obviously. Perhaps my fiancee will consent to giving some advice as well -- or perhaps I can impose upon one of her relations for a fast course in fey etiquette." His dark eyes twinkle again. "To quote an old friend of my fathers: we have the tools and we have the talent. Let's put them to use."

Lysos is in a semi-daze, still on her stool, but leaning back against the wall, letting the weight of the situation sink in. Vaguely aware of the building tension between Dolan and Aavhash, it doesn't take much self-convincing to stay out of it. She does manage a small smile when Telamon appears to support her suggestion, then nods firmly, pushing to her feet, smoothing out her skirts, to properly stand for Kimatsa's departure. "And make sure we bring gifts. They seem to like those." She has a bit of her own first hand knowledge!

"Don't you talk down to me, you arrogant prick. I know more about experience and what it teaches than you're likely to live long enough to learn, if you go in thinking you know everything." While Andie is out of the room, Dolan slowly swings his legs over the edge of the bed and, with an effort, stands, staring _hard_ at Aavhash with his one remaining eye, the scars across his face in full view. Now standing, and without a blanket wrapped around him, a number of marks, white and red, the yellow and green of massive healing bruises, and bandages wrapped around his midsection all mingle to create a rather haggard and ragged imagine in a body that is bowstring-taut head to foot. <draconic>

"My blood is not hot." Aavhash says with a curious look at Telamon, completely seemingly unawares of the shift in mood. "I am grateful that there are those like you who know of this fey. I would ask to meet with you to prepare properly for future endeavors now that I am a part of this." The tall black-scaled Sith-Makar bows her head every so slightly to Telamon and Lysos' words get a curious look but the faintest of smiles at the corners of her scaled lips. Someone isn't used to making sure expressions are noticeable yet.

That is until Dolan starts to get up out of bed while Andelina is gone with that diatribe. "Would you prefer I crouched when speaking to you?" Aavhash asks Dolan after a few moments though. "I can try, it will be easier to speak up to you now that you are standing." She says helpfully. "I am /here/ in this paper land to learn. There is much I do not. I promise you that I will live long enough to learn. Longer than you, by the looks of things," She gestures towards his /very/ abused form, "If you do not rest and heal. It would be unfortunate to lose a companion on a quest."

Emerald eyes blink in concern for Dolan. She however has been speaking tradespeak the whole time. "You both are excellent at Draconic. If you had good eye ridges and a more expressive tongue it would almost be perfect. Perhaps.." She gestures towards her throat, lifting her chin up to suggest it, "Puffier? No, that is not word..." Her chin drops and she looks thoughtful.

When Andelena returns, she simply sighs as she pours Dolan a cup of tea. "Bry," she says, "you need to /rest./ Get back in bed or I'll put you there." 

And, well, she could if she wanted to. 

The Sunguard looks around the room and says, "Let's put all this shit aside. We're here for Daeus's daughter, Eluna. We're here to help her and we have a way forward. And it seems like Telamon's got some ideas, so we're gonna go down the rabbit hole and see where it goes. All agreed?"

Lysos raises her hand in response to Andelena's query. "Agreed," she says, as solemnly as she can muster.

Kimatsa shakes her head once and motions for the sith-makar to follow her. "Come young sith-makar, it is time to go. Your words are not helping here." She looks at Dolan. "As for you, please rest. You are in dire need of it; that much is clear to us all." With that she strides out, taking the guard with her, and the argument comes to an abrupt end.
