Cesran is standing by where the scrolls or organized with his back to the grand telescope. He has unraveled one of the scrolls carefully and is reading it. Behind him standing completely on his own is his dragon headed staff. He appears to be deep in thought and reading as there are a couple of scholarly types that are looking in the grand telescope and making notes.

After a few moments there is the softest of sounds as the room is entered by another. Shizin glances around, and pauses upon seeing that someone else is already here. Pale lips part, but nothing is said as the dawn elf instead shifts and pulls a long lap-harp out of the folds of clothing, showing it off with a quirked eyebrow.

Cesran doesn't hear Shizin come in although the head of his staff turns towards Shizin and then turns back to Cesran. "Ahem!" The staff makes a sound much like clearing its through. Cesran looks up and turns around to see what his staff wants before spotting Shizin, "Ah sorry was I in the way?" He moves over to make room. "Just doing some research."

Shizin smiles softly with amusement before giving a soft shake of midnight blue hair. There is a quick glance around the room, before the dawn elf moves deeper into the room tapping fingers along the edge the wall softly where it will not disturb anything. Finally the harp is lifted again. One could almost hear the question unasked in the air.

Cesran shrugs a little bit, "If you wish to play your harp I think that it would be okay. I would not mind. Unless you are interested in my research. It's well complicated. I'm trying to figure out where I was based on the stars, normally that is easy, but well this was in the future, so now so much where I was but exactly when."

Shizin blinks at this, clearly confused and then settles into a seated position. The harp falls along the edge of one knee and there's barely a beat before music begins to play through the room. One gunmetal ring makes the strings hum like something deep and low while the other's play a softer melody. "Now that he's back in the atmosphere, with drops of Jupiter in his hair?" The words are long and hummed out slower than you'd expect, and the soft amused light looking at Cesran suggests that the lyrics are for him.

Cesran continues to read as he listens to the music. "You'll have to forgive me I 'm not familiar with those lyrics, who is the he that is back in the atmosphere?" He asks. His staff pipes up, "I think she is talking about you." Cesran ahs, "Sorry I'm Archmage Cesran and this is my staff and companion Ral-sara."

There is a moment of pure amusement from Shizin, and then there is a nod to both Cesran and Ral-sara separately. "He listens like spring and he talks like June... but tell me, did you sail across the sun?" The harp seemed to sing too, humming in tune to the lyrics as they played out.

Cesran rolls up the scroll and he goes to put it away as he thinks about what the elf said. Ral'sara chuckles, "I'm afraid you are on your own on that one." Cesran chuckles, "It's okay. Yes I've been here most of the day and will probably come back tomorrow."

The music shifts, slowing down and shifting tempo. "If you had the time to lose, an open mind and time to choose, would you care to take a look, or would you choose to read a book?" Shizin watches Cesran with more interest. "Time is on your mind?"

Ral'sara laughs, "I can answer that one for you, he's choose to read a book. Always reading a book." Cesran shakes his head, "Not true, what is the point of knowledge if you don't go out and use it." He answers his staff and then looks to Shizen, "Oh I'd probably look, but yes time is on my mind, with the rumor of Asumit coming back to Alexandria, I'm trying to see how much time we might have before the future I saw came to pass."

Finally, at last the music fades away entirely and the harpist sits quietly in the corner. Even after the song ceases it hangs in the air like a scent. Soft and vaguely lonely. It seems several times as though Shizin might speak, but each time nothing comes out, then finally with a flush that turns the tattoo's on Shizin's temples a purple color they do. The light soprano from before is gone, left to a tenor voice which is distinctly /male/. "You... saw the future?" Shizin is staring at the ground intently.

Cesran nods, "Once with a group of adventurers, an experiment to be sent forward in time. To see one possible future, to gain knowledge." He looks up towards where the telescope is pointing, "Perhaps it was folly and perhaps we have merely fixed into place what we've seen, but I like to think we can change it." He moves to grab another scroll to open it up and he ahs as he takes out a book and starts to write as he reads, "Did you know the stars move?"

Shizin also nods, seeming excited to simply sit and listen to what Cesran has to offer. The perfect silence which Shizin emits is such that it nearly prompts further discourse even if there are no words to encourage.

Cesran smiles, "It's hard to see because the are so far away, but it can be see over time and through very complex and complicated calculations one can determine the year based on how far the stars have shifted. Of course it's easier with larger time intervals because it gives the stars move time to move, but it can be done for shorter years. Just a matter of finding the stars that move and how far they move given a time period and based on my brief, but informative glances up at the night sky. Still a lot of work and a lot of math." He says as he continues to write in his book.

"Now that he's back from that soul vacation, tracing his way through the constellation." The lyrics are softly sung and Shizin finally looks up to watch Cesran. Watching silently for a moment longer while he writes. "Do you... want to talk about it? That future?" The words seem to cost the dawn elf who lowers blue eyes once again, though not as low as before. Watching Cesran's hands.

Cesran listens and he nods, "Indeed I am back. Thank you, but no, the future might be dangerous if too many people know about it, could make what I saw come to pass sooner or not at all, which could be better or worse." He says as he continues to write down in his book as he looks over the scroll, "And who knows perhaps just knowing about it changes it enough all ready. That's really something more for those who are more philosophy minded to ponder. I don't have time to indulge in a game of what ifs."

A wild elf in the leathers of a wilderness dweller, the accoutrements of an archer, the goggles of perhaps an artificer, and with an ioun stone flying endless circles around his head comes meandering in, slowly so as to thoroughly examine scores of details. He pauses reverently in front of Eluna's symbol, then proceeds in. He nods to the archmage, greeting, "Master Cesran", then bows to the dawn elf.

The elf notes the entrance of another and immediately flushes with lips still half-parted. Rather than speaking Shizin strums another line over the harp set against one upraised knee and lets the music thrum out with the occasional ring of metal against strings.

Cesran looks over towards Ga'Elian, "Ah hello Ga'Elian what brings you up to the observatory? Come to looks at the stars. I was just explaining a bit about what I'm researching to this fellow here. He's a musician of considerable talent."

Ga'Elian nods, "Yes. Although we Sildanyar sleep not, nevertheless the Lady of Dreams is our divine patroness. In my trances, she often inspires the contemplations that fill my mind." <Tradespeak> Looking back at Shizin, he says, a soul-deep smile filling his countenance, he says, "A host of stars shine upon the hour of our meeting. I am Ga'Elian of the Faravanilas tribe." <Sildanyari>

The complement only serves to make Shizin’s face reden, and then with Ga’Elian’s poetic words the tattoo’s on Shizin’s forehead and temples turn perfectly purple and so too does Shizin’s ears. With a deep bow that does nothing to stop the light music to be played, and the dawn elf offers a few words. “I am Shizin Hinota.”

Cesran nods, "Yes of course, but there is the temple for that sort of worship. I was wondering if you were here to look at the stars through the telescope or here for another reason such as I am." He says as he has a book open and is writing down notes in it as he looks over a scroll."

Ga'Elian shrugs, "The patterns in the night sky inspire my contemplation frequently. The stars, for as intellectually stimulating as many find them, speak to my heart and soul. Perhaps I simply have more romantic than scientific sensitivities." He gives an innocently charming smile. In fact, this reminds me of an old lay that compares the beauty of the stars to the wonder of fireflies in a forest. Would it disturb your studies if I sang some of it?"

Meaningfully Shizin strums the harp, but in a different cadance before. The sound rounds the room and with a little light tap syncs back. "I will sing with you."

Ga'Elian smiles, then starts to sing. As he does, he wanders through the room seeking the best acoustic location, then staying there.

Unsurprisingly the best acoustic area is where Shizin is sitting, so they end up very close together. With the other elf close it is as though their harmony blends perfectly. However it is a little bit louder than seems appropriate in this place of study. So with regret Shizin lets the music fade away and boldly looks at Ga'Elian. "Perhaps outside?"

Ga'Elian nods enthusiastically and breaks off to reply, "I'm all about the outdoors." He says to Cesran, "May you discover great truths." Then departs. Outside a majestic griffon with a gleaming mithral shirt stands purring and swishing its tail while it preens its feathers. Ga'Elian introduces him to Shizin, "This is my companion, Erithamiel." It means Silverbeak in Sildanyari, and the creature's beak indeed looks like it is made of silver polished to a chrome-like shine.

Shizin follows Ga'Elian outside, bowing to his mount politely. The dawn elf even tucks away the harp in hand though it remains close by. They will find another place to make music. One not far away…
