It's Tariday, Quintoos 15 11:14:11 1018. The full moon isn't up. The tide is low and slack. The sky is brilliant blue and cloudless, the sunlight is bright, and a brisk wind blows from the northwest.

H03: Eldwyn Road

This crossroads sees a heightened amount of traffic today. Cold as the season is expected to be, the day is bright and beautiful, so people are out and about. Traveling toward the City, the hunter Ga'Elian is riding on griffon-back from the northern woods. More than meandering, but not riding with haste, either.

Svarshan makes his way back from the Walled City. He moves slowly, as lizards are wont to do. Srassha walks alongside him, more quickly-paced. As the wind picks up, he lifts his muzzle into it--which causes him to catch site of the fliers overhead. He thumps his tail, once, and then says something to Srassha, who also slows.

Ga'Elian, seeing the Brightscales and the Swiftclaw, gives a short toot on his sounding horn to attract Svarshan's glance, then smiles in salutation, guiding his mount to approach. Upon drawing appropriately near he says, "Peace on your nest, milord. I was actually heading toward the City to seek you. I have tidings for the Book."

"And peasse to yourss," the brightscale says. He nudges his swift with his shoulder, and the great beast slows. He makes a sign with his claws, meaning: are things well? before saying aloud, "It iss good to sshare wordss again."

Ga'Elian says, "It is." while giving shaking his head gently, the cheerful tone of his voice contradicted by the sobriety of his expression. He looks around. He sees a couple merchant wagons disembarking from the ferry, a pair of young farm workers driving an ox, and a few Arvek knights emerging from the Malifre Stables. He says in a hushed voice, "I have a lead on a sorcerer that intends to summon a demon in the City."

"Ssa?" the sith-makar asks. He follows the other man's look towards the wagons, the farmers. He lowers his voice. "Insspired by the Would-be, do you think?" he asks. Next to him, Srassha idles. She looks lazily over towards the ferry.

Ga'Elian shrugs, "That might have some contributing effect on it, but I think this one has a more personal inspiration. A few days ago, Inand some companions, including Shaman Durrankar, in fact, had been sought out to follow the tracks of a mysterious man, clad in black, and with a pair of savage ogre guards. They had been spotted by a group of Guild adventurers who had been sent out to deal with a band of miscreant gobbers. Well, they managed to eliminate the gobbers alright, but came back and reported to the Guild that this man in black seemed to have been behind their deeds, but had gotten away. Anyway, I found their tracks, and led my companions along their trail to a subterranean hidey-hole..."

Svarshan looks over with interest, though keeps his body language relaxed. Even, where to someone look over. They may as well be discussing the weather.

Ga'Elian continues, "The tracks above ground had been about a week old when we followed them, but as soon as we climbed down the hole, the tracks were fresh, less than an hour old by my reckoning. Anyway, we soon overheard a conversation in Celestial, and, well, the long and the short of it seems to be that this man had gotten the assistance of some evil nagas, and had captured and were coercing the assistance of a Guardian Naga as well. Anyway, the man got away, and we fought a couple dark nagas and the ogres. Once we had vanqished them, Durrankar attended to our wounded, while I pursued the one naga that fled from us. The trail led to another chamber where that naga was dispatched by a great 20-foot-long naga for being so foolish as to lead me to their master, this man in black. We all approached together and tried to battle the queen naga and her master, but he had conjured a Wall of Force. Before he teleported away to let the queen naga fight his battle, he did say the following, though...

"...thiss creature hass a fondness for ssnakes," the sith-makar says wryly. He motions down the trail--not more than a mild goat's path, wandering through the hills. "I am glad the sshaman wass able to. Help. I will have to assk his advisse, later," he says and pauses.

"What did thiss creature ssay?"

Ga'Elian answers, "He complimented us on our tenacious opposition, then said his name was Su'Tek Sarka'mon. He seems to be a mul'niessa sorcerer with demonic blood. He even claimed his father was a demon whose bone are buried in the sewers of Alexandria, and seemed to be intent on finding them so that he could raise his 'father'. In any case, his defenses were formidable, but he seemed to have little stomach for a fight."

The sith-makar snorts, once. "Mul culture iss build on liess and ssuppossition. One gave a sspeech ressently. Sshe argued for the sslaughter of my children ass a means to cull our impuritiess," he says, snapping his teeth. He goes quiet a moment. Then adds: "...and they are bassed on the worsship of demonss. If thiss-one claimss ownersship. ...he could have more than nagan ssupporterss behind. Him in the dark plasses."

Ga'Elian listens carefully, then lets the implications roll off of his facial expression. "Well, I figure your group is better suited by far than I am to handle the complexities. I mainly see the immediate threat and intend to do what I can to take it down." He smirks. Anyway, Now you know what I do, and I should probably let you go on about your business. The blessings of sun and moon be upon you."
