PrP Policy Update
Howdy!
Given local challenges in running PrPs, as well as us having added a lot of new options, SPELLS!, FEATS! and neat things lately, we are adjusting our encounter guidelines a bit. That is:
- Groups will be assumed to be APL+2 as "Average"
- (higher or lower numbers of PCs adjust this, ofc)
Previously, we had assumed APL+1. However, we have added a lot of options to the game since then, as well as learned more about Pathfinder! We believe this change is needed to keep things challenging. In the end, it is a pretty small change overall, and plot runners are generally free to pick whichever challenge is appropriate.
We've also worked to provide better guidelines for what might, or might not be, challenging for groups on Tenebrae. Where before things were kind of a sweeping statement, we've tried to be more nuanced:
- T1: Up to CR+3 (up to CR+4 if 5 or more)
- T2: Up to CR+4 (up to CR+5 if 5 or more)
- T3-4: Up to CR+5 (up to CR+6 if 5 or more)
Are these more helpful? Please let us know. We'll be testing things out as things run, and taking your feedback.
Also, the numbers above should not be considered the standard, but upper limits. As normal, creatures using tactics will always be stronger than those without, groups are better than singles, so always consider the party before selecting challenges. (The reason the upper tier numbers ramp up is that power can rachet up pretty quickly in the upper levels, and we hope this opens the floor to new challenges and fun.)
We will be taking feedback as with all new things, and may adjust along the way, so please keep in contact with staff and other PrP Runners. If you've questions or want to run ideas by us, please do. Also, don't hesitate to make use of the GM's Guild (page Hurricane about the next meeting!).
Finally, we are considering allowing Mythic rules for creatures at T2 plus. These could make running a "single boss monster" against groups more viable. What do YOU think? Should we test it? Would you be interested? Such tests would be nonlethal, ofc.

Heroic Fantasy, Tequila, and a FAQ
OH GOD. ALIGNMENT!
More seriously, we went ahead and tacked this onto the FAQ because it does come up from time to time, and here is kind of something folks can point to. It addresses the small picture, big picture, how much we dislike policing alignment, and also things like the general lack of gray morality in a heroic fantasy setting.
Because we're crazy, it touches on inquisitors and paladins, too.

Sparklepire PrC!
Staff is pleased to announce that we are hard at work on an upcoming, Sparklepire PrC! While it will primarily be aimed at gnomes, we hope lucht, oruch, and more will take a bite out of the sparkle side!

GMs Guild...?
Hey there! Some of you have requested a 'Tenebrae GMs Guild' and we are working on that! What this means is that once a month, or every few weeks, we'll host an open gathering. Someone can propose a topic, but the rest of the time is up to you--whether you'd like to share resources, or bring up ideas. We'll be putting Hurricane on the spot to start with, but I am sure he'd love to hear voices other than his!
This 'Guild' is ofc open to everyone. What I'd like to do though, is make a logo for it. Any ideas?

Did You Know These GM Commands...?
Did you know about these great DMing, and other scene-related commands?
- +tdamage: Like +init, this handly little feature comes packed with options. Would you like to damage everyone because FIREBALL? Type: +tdamage all=<amount>! Use negative numbers to heal.
- +tnote: Want to track rounds of Haste? +tnote lets you set notes on characters such as, "Stinky" or "Haste." You can also set a duration.
- +init: More than just rolling initiative, the +init command takes modifiers, too. For example, you can +init+2 if you are a swashbuckler and have at least 1 panache available to you. (Situational bonuses like these are not coded in, but we try to make them as easy to use as possible!)
- +tmap/reach: Curious about a creature's, or your, reach? This can help! This command takes into account a creature's size. Default is medium. Note, it does not take into account reach weapons.
These are a few of the commands found in +timestops! Whenever a +timestop is present, just type +thelp for more things you can do.
But wait, there's more!
- +request/plots: Had a great adventure? Share your journals! This helps new players catch up to what's going on and is a great help. Personal journals may always be created and kept using +help journal, although this is more of a note-keeping system to help you keep track of recent stories, such as: Today we rescued the Prince Otyugh. He looked great in tightpants.
- +event/leg: Want to do some followup to a great adventure? This +events command creates a new LEGwork queue with all confirmed players.
I hope these are helpful, and awesome! For more possibly unknown commands and options, hit +bbread 1 and look for the "Did you know...?" titles. The last I checked, they were around entries 1/54 and 1/55.

Breaking Down +breakdown!
The question came up: why doesn't +breakdown work on +csheet? The answer for this lies in how +csheet values are encoded. To get it really, truly broken down would require recoding +csheet. In the meantime, +breakdown does work for your rollable +sheet values. Tinker with it and see what comes up!
Also, I am reminded that +timestop code now takes into account +polymorph. Three cheers for White, guys!

Ultimate Equipment Errata
Paizo released an errata on UE. We are working on incorporating this into the wiki, but ask that folks be patient in the meantime. If this errata affects you, please let us know and we will do what we can to work things out!

One-on-ones with T2s!
Hey, there! We have gotten a few questions about T2 plots. We wanted to let you know, staff will be offering 1-on-1s if you would like or are curious about trying your hand at these. Please contact us if so and would like to sit down over coffee, as it were. Our door is open, and we do mean that. Otherwise, game on!
We are still intending to get with folks over storymeets, as well. If this is you, please be patient with us. We are doing our best. :3
Incremental Antimagic!
Did you know we have rules for offering partial, and graduated antimagic? They can be used to make an area feel more challenging in a thematic, in a story-focused way. Too, removing ALL magic can have a wonky effect on CR that is hard to predict. Incremental alleviates some of these problems in a flavorful way. Whether you want it a little challenging, or a lot--or just quirky--Incremental has you covered.

Did You Know About These RP Options...?
We like character options and roleplay so much that over the years we've added options, and rewards, for investing in your personal story. We do this because your character's stories are important to us. If you're new, or perhaps an older player just looking around, here are a few ideas:

- Social Options Room: Want to list your homeland, or basic associations? Set them quickly and easily in this room!
- More:Type SO from the Gaming Table!
- Aspects: In a world filled with magic, Aspects are what happens when that magic begins to respond to a character on a personal level. Aspects are a Tiered RPP spend that grows as you level. They come in several flavors and varieties; is there one that fits your character?
- Exclusives: Exclusive RPP spends tend to represent a primary track or focus of your character. For example, is your character really dedicated to their organization? The Organization RPP spend offers benefits for being involved. Perhaps your character made a bad (or good) deal with an outsider, and you'd like that to develop and grow over time. If this interests you, check out Blood Pact! Check out anything with an "E" to the right, on the below link:
- Short Stories: Short stories let us reward you for the stories you craft ongrid. For example, your character believes him or herself to be a master chef. You'd like to explore that, and the hilarious accidents on the way. Engage others in roleplay and share your tale, and gain bonuses, too!
- Merchant's Vehicle: Looking for a seller's cart or a merchant's stall? Perhaps a hoverbike for your artificer? Check our our Small Vehicles spend. (These cannot substitute for a mount.)
- Gain Ranks in Crafts, Profession, or Perform through Roleplay: What does your character do during their downtime? Check our our RPP options for advancing crafts, profession, and various perform skills through your roleplay.
- Meetups: Do you want to meet other Vardamen or the Ygdrassil Union? Arrange a Meetup, and receive rewards for meeting PCs you'd wanted to, anyway.
- Character Pages: Character pages say a lot about you. They also: provide a way to archive +sheet/journals, are a place to add badges, and include yourself in wiki categories. For example, if you're Elunan, you could add the Elunan tag. Someone clicking on the wiki category, "Elunan," would bring up a list of the Elunans ingame--including you! However, only if you add the tag.

- +sheet/journal: Did you know your journal updates when a plot finishes? If you'd like to add more detail (or notes), check out +help journal. You can add to and edit your own entries, too!

Did You Know You Could...
Aside from chardev options, did you know you could do this as both a player and storyrunner?
- Invent any "inbetween" details: Tenebrae's theme is crafted in broad, sweeping strokes. We deliberately left the small details open so our community could fill them in. If you need a particular farmer's village to exist, invent one. If you need an acolyte or minor priest who works at the Daeusite temple, invent one. While major NPCs and landmarks are set, local details often aren't.
- Invent NPCs: Anyone may enact general and minor NPCs to enrich ongrid RP, outside of a scene! Of course, the usual caveats apply: no posing NPCs to talk about how awesome you are, to giggle over your PC's dimpled chin and manly gaze... don't do that.
- Pose combat: You're welcome to pose combat in ongrid RP, too! Pose having a group of drunken gobbers rushing a bar fight. Include dice if you really want to. PCs can react and pose throwing them out, or getting trounced. For general storytelling, there's no need to involve a DM, or even make a full scene. You don't even need a timestop.
- Summon timestops, anywhere!: Timestops may be called anywhere ongrid, by typing +timestop!
- Enjoy dramatic time: Also known as "skipping to the good parts!" In general, we assume travel during scenes happens when it is reasonable for it to happen, or durnig periods when your character isn't doing anything. This prevents timebubbles between or during scenes. The same applies when traveling around the grid.
- Use +sotd: Looking for an unusual place to RP, today? Try +sotd, short for Spot of the Day! It changes every 24 hours!
- Use +event/leg: Make a LEGwork +req based on a scene you run! Usable for any type of scene, from Meetups to PrPs! It auto-adds all confirmed players, so they can rumormonger and investigate!
- Social and combat scenes award the same: They do! Check out some of our logs or talk with DMs for details! Well, we do award social scenes a little more: an added 2 RPP to the plot runner, but that is the only difference.
- Ask for a staff announce: Running something and would like a little extra notice? Ask for a staff announce!
- Ask staff for help: Need ideas? Wondering if something would work, or wouldn't? Trouble handling a range of levels, or trouble with an encounter? Ask staff! We are here and glad to help. For APL and CR, Whirlpool, Hurricane, and Inferno are great to go to. For story and what you can do, check with any of the above, or for story support for your scene, tackle Beaglefinder or Derecho.
- Ask the community for help: Check out our TPK channel, too! It's the place to go for advice on scenes. In fact, we created it just for that. We love stories, too!
- Find RP prefs, character details: Type +rpwho and see the magic! In scenes, you can also use +tscan if you are the storyrunner!
In general, we are pretty open so long as what is done falls within general behavior guidelines and spirit of the game.

New Org: The Alexandrian Tribume!
The Tribune has been added to the list of orgs! Details on this will be available soon. PCs who are members would be considered staff, reporters, and so on. You will NOT need to be a member of this group to publish articles. Article publication (as a character or as a player) is open to everyone, and you will always get at least 1 RPP for it!

Update!
As of today, we're adding in the following updates of AWESOME:
- RPP HP Rerolls are now 1 higher! Fighters may now reroll 1-3, for example.
- If you RP and submit a +request/rpp for roleplay relating to a crafting request, the crafting time is reduced by 1 day (minimum 1 day spent crafting). This may include +requests currently in queue (though it may mean going ongrid again, but RP is also awesome)

Lifestyles in Alexandria
Alexandria exists in a contentious cradle--a geographic desired by, and once conquered many times, by other more powerful, larger nations. As a result, the area is tough, proud, and as varied as any place on Ea.
To celebrate that spirit, I'd like to toss out a challenge. Come up with a short article or story for the local paper on food, or lifestyles in part of Alexandria, and I'll award a bonus RPP for it, in addition to the one you get for sending in an article to begin with.

Tribune on the Grid!
Somehow, the scrappy crew at the Tribune has gotten together enough funds to run the presses once more! The Tribune has lately re-opened its offices in the gossip-filled Lower Trades. (The Tribune is set as the +sotd today, if you would like to visit!)
PS If you are there, please help us add decorations to Derecho. The gnomes have brought in tinsel, but the color does not seem quite right...

Oh, hey! If you didn't know, we archive many of Tenebrae's goofy (or memorial, but you know) objects in Cuddles' Apartment. Cuddles stores them in her closet for us. Exclusive Boost!
Howdy! We're pleased to announce that all Exclusive spends got a boost at T6 for existing players, and for new players, across the board! You see, on Tenebrae, upper levels are about reaching out and uplifting others, and we wanted to reward that.
From here on out, when someone you've helped gain their feet takes T1 in your Exclusive spend, they get it for free, and you gain 5 Bonus RPP! In addition, if the new character is in a different level bracket, you both get the value of a PrP at your respective levels. So, lots of bonuses and thank-yous, just for helping someone else.

What IS a Small Story, Anyway??
A small story is a summary of collected roleplay around some goal, that occured with other characters outside of a scene. For example, you might roleplay with friends a plot to steal Sandy's laundry. Or, roleplay your concern as you recover from being attacked by yellow musk creepers, with others helping you along the way.
From there, write a summary and send it in. Many folks elaborate and turn the summary into a full retelling, to make it more of a story. This is not required, though you are certainly welcome to.
You could say that Small Stories are a means for us to reward the stories and ideas you come up with outside of DM scenes, and that is true.
So, in summary, Small Stories
- Are worth a lot, a lot, a lot!
- Must involve other people
- Occur ongrid, not in scenes, although they can be tied or or inspired by scenes
- Should involve at least three separate roleplays
When you send in your summary or retelling, be sure to:
- Make sure to include your goal ('dealing with the musk creeper attack' or 'stealing Sandy's laundry!')
- Make sure it's evident other people were involved; delving into your character's headspace is cool, but we need to know that others were there, too!

New Year!
As we settle into 2016 (can you believe we're closing in 15 years already?) We began life inspired by settings like Iron Kingdoms, Final Fantasy and Warcraft, and we've added a lot of things from a lot of people over he years! Kabooms! Magics! Artifice! HOBGOBLINS. Yet, there is always room for improvement. FOR CHANGE. Starting in April, we are beginning a new phase. We are converting to SOAPS MUX.

Somehow, somehow we have never celebrated that greatest of movies, Princess Bride! It's inconceivable. So, this April 14th we will be hosting a Movie Night here on Tenebrae. Bring your chips, bring your drinks, pirate hats, and the glove of the six-fingered man!
To celebrate the greatest movie ever made, we'll be awarding any PrP bonus XP and GP for not just the runners, but participants as well! This will be a slightly larger bonus than we normally do. :D This is for any PrP that gives a nod to the Princess Bride, from here until the 14th! Participants getting into the spirit of things will get a bonus, also!

Monsters!
Hey, there! Do you have a favourite creature, or one you don't think gets enough love? Please @mail Whirlpoops if so. We'll be running an open mic night for our monsters, chatting about ideas to use them in plots, and general mayhem.
Alts!
Hey, there. As a general rule, we here at Tenebrae try to foster a culture of openness and trust between players. We shoot for a feel where, at the end of things, Tenebrae is something like a giant gaming table. At that table, you know who is playing the bard, or the barbarian. This leads us to be pretty open about things like alts. We are not a political PvP game, or other game that requires alt secrecy.
We attempt to set this standard in our own behavior. You all know who my alts are, who Whirl's are, Hurricane's, Derecho's. We keep things pretty low-key that way. That said, we understand it's not that way on other games and that might caue a bit of culture clash for folks who aren't used to it. We're all used to different environments and we try to respect that. At the end, we hope you'll feel comfortable around the table, and settle in to roll some dice.

Sewer Fun!
So, recently, it was learned by some PCs that there are demonic forces lurking around in Alexandria's sewer system, threatening to burble up from underground from time to time.
So, what'd I'd like to see is the continuance of demon-hunt PRPs. No, you don't have to use the Alexandrian sewers, but those demons are out there, threatening civilians and keeping things busy. Plots which involve in this will be noted by me as going towards clearing out this infestation and will have an impact on the overall storyline. :)

Release Package 24!
Howdy! We're pleased to announce Release Package 24! In it, you will find:
- New spells for: Artificer, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Inquisitor, Ranger, Wizard/Sorcerer, and Witch!
- New options for Fighter! We are glad to include Advanced Weapon Training!
- A new feat to support AWT!
- Updated, streamlined spell commands! A big thank you to everyone who has provided feedback, and helped test these!
- Updated spell +help!
- Shinied up +help for many commands!
- Some nice buffs to the Homelands RPP spend!
A big thank you to our code and wiki staff for making this all possible! Also, a big shout-out to everyone who provided their thoughts and ideas for feedback! We hope the new spells commands are easier to pick up and learn. As with any new content, expect the occasional burp and burble. If you'd like to take advantage of any of the new content, just send us a +request and we will work something out.
Our next Release Package will be Release Package 25. That is a pretty cool number. :)

Update Your Time Commands!
Hey, folks. Please don't forget to set your +time/offset! DST has struck again (which also means that existing event times will appear an hour off, but new ones will not).
SET OFFSET:
- +time/offset <offset>
- +time/offset -5 (for example, for CDT)
CHECK OFFSET:
- +time
Setting your offset from your alts should set it for all of them. If it does not, check that all of your alts are registered, by typing +finger.

Bug Reporting!
Howdy! In response to questions about what to send in when submitting a bug, we've updated the help files! See +help requests3 for what is helpful to send in. What is really helpful to staff is to know where it happened, what you typed, and what the game output. Finally, what you'd expected to happen.
Knowing these things help us troubleshoot quickly and effectively. Thank you!

Spell Commands!
Hey, there! As a heads-up, we are looking at ways to streamline our spells commands sometime in the future. At the moment, these commands possess all different looks and styles. What we're proposing to do is to streamline them along the lines of: +spells/list and +spells/prep, for example.
This may be sooner than later, depending on how things roll out.

PrP Bonus!
Hey, there! It's almost--man, it is almost March, and we'd like to go in like a lion! ...even if it means mincing out like a gnomish lamb. :D For this month, anyone who drops a scene ongrid will receive bonus XP and GP for that scene, just for making it happen and helping folks here have a good time. It's also our way of saying thank you for being awesome.
Just toss an +event together later, an' all. There's no need to announce ongrid scenes ahead of time, unless you'd like to.
Also, for everyone else: please remember, if there is a Timestop present (you see (TIMESTOP) in +where), you MUST page before joining. For sanity, PrP DMs have the right to refuse afer a certain number, or ask you to swap for a different PC for levels, and so forth. In general, be polite, rescue the gnomish prince, slay a few monsters, and have a good time. That is what we are here for, after all. :3

Alexandrian Tribune, Reloaded!
SO BUSY.
So! We are relaunching the Alexandrian Tribune! It is the local Alexandrian newspaper!
What does this mean?
It means if you'd like to, submit an article for publication! Articles can be rumor posts, editorials, etc. about anything from gnomish theatre, to rumors about a plox (just ping the DM, but they are usually very happy to see this!). If you contribute to an edition, you'll be awarded 1 RPP!
Just send them in to the RPP queue, and send Derecho lots of hugs! He will be helping coordinate the new Tribune!

What You Don't Know About Timestop
Timestops are used to help run combat in a scene or PrP! Here are some things you may not know about them:
FOR PLAYERS
- Timestop commands aren't usable until you +init, so always +init!
- Timestops can now track everything from AoOs to a paladin's mercies to a druid's wildshape: see +thelp/player once a timestop is dropped!
- Timestops can show you party hp! Type +hp!
- Timestops show up in +where! If you see (TIMESTOP) in +where, it means there is a PrP in progress! Page the GM a thank-you for running for folks!
- Timestops offer live, ingame maps! Not everyone uses them, but they are pretty cool!
FOR DMS
- Timestops come loaded with their commands! This means you can summon them ANYWHERE ongrid, not just plot rooms!
- Timestops let you scan your party for stats! Type +tscan!
- Timestops can track status effects, too! Check out +thelp/dm and check out the note functions! You can even set a timer.
- Timestops let you quickly view abilities your players possess, such as wildshape! Type +abil/list <name> to check!
- Timestops offer maps, but these are optional; there when you want them, not when you don't!
Finally: Timestops may be dropped anywhere, anytime, not just in plot rooms! In fact, if you run a plot ongrid, there is no need to pre-scedule. Just please do so after--that is just so we can make sure everyone gets a chance at scenes, and so on.

Timestop Update
Do you find yourself with more stubborn enemies than you can Smite?
Are you so good at buckling your swash that your Panache always goes UP?
Are zombie hordes approaching faster than you can change Channels?
For all of these ailments and more, try new +abil! With just one simple spritz of +abil <ability>=<#>, you can keep track of just how many more uses (and which!) of your stupendously awesome abilities you have remaining! Just as your DM (or DM's evil dice!) will now precisely when you have run out, so he/she/it/they can murder you. Fun for all ages!
But wait, there's more! For the paragons of fantasticality, using a NEGATIVE <#> will refill your ability's per diem (up to maximum, of course!).
SURGEON GENERAL'S WARNING: While +abil may be able to handle any ability known to man, sil, or gobber, not all abilities from all sources have been upgraded to make use of this wonderful discovery. Should you find yourself unintenionally lacking, please submit a +request or @mail to Whiteout.

Name your companion!
Thanks to Whiteout, we have an amazing new command! Use +comp/name <name> to give your companion a name! You'll be able to see this using +sheet/comp, which brings up the companion portion of your +sheet!

Clarification: Companions!
The new code means you'll be able to select options for your AC as you level! This also means companions will no longer need approved. You are good to rock and roll!
Animal Companions: How-To
Because we've gotten a few questions, here's what to do if you have an AC!
If you are an APPROVED character:
- 1. Are you one of the following? Druid, ranger, paladin, cavalier, or an inquisitor or cleric with the animal domain?
- 2. If you're one of the above, and have an Animal Companion, send a +request to staff. Use the SHEET bucket. In the +request, include just the choices you'd personally made for your companion: their feats, their skills (include ranks, not bonus), and which attributes you'd raised. Also, let us know if you have companion-specific items. You do not need to list anything else.
- 3. If you are NOT one of the above, grab a pizza and go on with life.
If you are NOT approved:
- 1. Are you one of the following? Druid, ranger, paladin, cavalier, or an inquisitor or cleric with the animal domain? If so, you may need to +start over. Code will take care of you from here. There is no need to contact staff.
- 2. If you're NOT one of the above, grab a pizza and go on with life.
Aside from this one event for existing characters, the Chargen and Advance rooms should handle everything.

Release Package 23!
Howdy! We're glad to announce the launch of RP 23! This has been a big one, in terms of Release Packages, and so parts of it have already been rolled out in stages! In RP 23, you will find:
- Unchained barbarian! If you have not updated your barbarian, please let us know! Most +sheets should update automagically, and the new +rage code is already in place. Staff will work with you to adjust rage powers, and so on! With Unchained, look forward to more full-length rage powers, better barbarian DR, and free 'buffer' hit points you regain every combat!
- Companion code! A big thanks to Whiteout for this! This has been a BIG behind-the-scenes accomplishment. If you have an animal companion, please +request to staff! Include:
- 1. Your companion's feat choices
- 2. Your companion's skill choices
- 3. Your companion's attribute raise choices
- 4. List any items in your inventory belonging to your companion
That is all you need to include! Code will handle everything else automagically. We will also modify your items so they auto-add to your companion when you equip them!
From here on out, you will be able to make choices for, and level, your companion in chargen. You'll also be able to see your companion's stats by using +sheet/comp.
The animal companion update applies to: druids, rangers, paladins, cavaliers, and also inquisitors or clerics with the animal domain!
- More mentor rewards! Each Exclusive RPP spend offers a Mentor option now, as part of their T6 ability. This is just a reward for taking a newer PC "under your wing." If you act as their mentor, they often get T1 in that spend for free, and you both get bonus RPPs!
- New +prepare code! For those corner cases like Combined Contraptions, we've implemented some updates to +prepare! To go with it, +help spells2 has also been prettified and updated, with more examples!
- Update to +sotd! Using +sotd now lets folks know how to to get there, too!
As always with new material, there may be bits and pieces here to work out or polish! If this happens, just let us know via +bug. Character upgrade requests go to /sheet, please. Thank you, and game on!

What do YOU think is missing?
Howdy. I've been looking over the different RPP options. One of the things that comes to mind is: what's missing? Exclusive spends? Tokens? Aspects? What would you like to see?
Toss some ideas to +pitch!
If you're curious, here are a few of our design guidelines:
- Many basic spends aim for trait-level or thereabouts. This isn't universal, but it's a good rule of thumb.
- Spends tend to avoid +x to attack (our point buy would make this insane).
- Feats are generally a no-go (EWP was considered more trait than feat), but it doesn't mean they can't be used as inspiration.
- Try not to take abilities outright from other classes, though inspiration is super-cool.

Holidays Reminder!
To celebrate the holidays, we're doing something special this year! If you haven't heard, this December, and January, if you run any 2 of:
- PrP
- Meetups
- Short Stories (this refers to completing your own)
We'll award 1 full level and stipend to any PC of 10 or below, OR 1/2 level to any PC 11 or higher!
How does this work, exactly?
All you need to do really, is tell your story. Run a PrP, craft a Short Story--any of the items on the list and send it in as normal. We'll award you normally for this first one. If you run a SECOND within the time period, other participants will receive their award as normal, but you'll get the level (or half-level) benefit, instead!
How long does this run?
This runs until January 31st! Or, roughly the next two months.
Any types of PrPs requested?
We are looking for all types, but especially those that tie into the current arc, or make use of ritual magic! If you are interested in the arc, now is the time to tag Whirlpool! That said, the floor is really open for what you would like to do.
This is awardable once per player, not character.
Unchained Barbarian LIVE!
Hey there! As of now, Unchained Barbarian is now rolled out! Special thanks to Whiteout for handling the code backend! +rage code has been updated, as well!
If you have any character who possesses barbarian levels:
- Review your rage powers! This is true even if you do NOT think you will be making adjustments. Many rage powers updated, some no longer exist, others may be replaced with different options.
- Send us a +request with any Rage Power adjustments. We will be happy to readjust your 'powers or let you select different ones. Note, if you swap out a power, you must meet all pre-requesites at the level you would have taken the rage power.
- Send us a +request (possibly the same one) to let us know which feat you'd like in place of Raging Vitality. Raging Vitality no longer exists.
The Unchained Barbarian is part of our upcoming Release Package! We are releasing it early in light of the holidays. That is, it gives staff a few fewer +requests to process by then, and lets us concentrate on family. Also, it gets you your awesome earlier.

Barbarian go RAWR!
Howdy! As a heads-up, we will be updating to the new, Unchained Barbarian! Existing PCs will auto-convert, though you will be able to send in a +req to update and alter your rage powers or other bits of fine-tuning. Paizo has smoothed out many of the mechanics, and made some formerly weaker powers more awesome!
Expect this update sometime around the 16th of next week. In the meantime, we've added the Unchained Barbarian to our wiki for easy perusal.

Update to PrP Policy!
Can you cameo in your own PrPs?
For the longest time we have said 'no,' because well, DMPC. Who wants those, really? However, we are looking at relaxing this rule, given some guidelines. A PrP DM's PC may be a questgiver in a PrP, with the following caveats:
- - The quest must be accomplished on behalf of their organization, a greater plot arc, or similar body and not themselves.
- - The PrP DM's PC may appear at the beginning of a plot, but not be part of it. This means no following the PCs along, no joining in on the adventure. The spotlight must be on the participants. The purpose of the DM PC should be to explain the plot, provide additional information, or some similar function at the start of the adventure.
- - It is always a good idea to run this by staff, first.
As with all things, expect some adjustments as we go, based on experience and feedback!

"--ARVETH! Servant of War! Arveth, Soldier of KOR!"
"Answer our call to your earthen Vessel!" The priest thrust his hands skyward as the clanfolk roared. A great thunder shook the earth and one of them--a warrior in the back, stood as Arveth made his choice known. Her hair was wild and her eyes fierce. As they watched, dark smoke overtook her gaze, and when she spoke, her voice was one that had not been heard for over a hundred years.
"I. AM. WAARRRR!" Black fire erupted from the oruch's mouth as she raised her blade to the sky in tribute to the godservant who honored them. Priests hurried to place the Pauldrons of Arveth on her shoulders. Shaped by their most skilled blacksmiths, the pauldrons resembled those Arveth, Herald of Kor, had traditionally worn to battle hundreds of years ago. Today, Arveth would ride to battle with them, at the flanks of their chieftains.
They were invincible.
Across the plains, the arvek armies gathered. Their leader watched the enemy through his spyglasses, and spat upon the earth. "Showoffs," he said flatly. He raised his arm. Around him, soldiers stood straighter. Around him, the officers called formations as their gorgets flashed in the sun.
The arvek would march. Individually, they heard the Anger of Arveth, Individually they shivered, but as they formed ranks the fear splashed against Discipline and ran screaming into the gutter. Discipline made the fear as useless as a sil's beardwhiskers, and as one, the units of soldiers formed ranks and began to move more quickly than any solitary, ordinary man had a right to.
Nothing would stand in their way. Nothing. Come hail or hellfire, they would march forever against their enemy. Even into Sunset, and rout the oruch before them.

These special rules may be used by anyone to enhance stories and plots, to add sf-x in a meaningful way, and so on.

Okay!
Dun Mordren is now done, as I've said, and you're all untimefrozen to pick up the pieces after that. people will be returning to Alexandria, so I expect to see all of you ont he grid a bit and RPin'!
What this means is that the Asumit plotline, which I had to pause on account of Dun Mordren hitting its climax, is now back on trcak. It will take me a few days to power through related jobs as well as get loot and XP done. :)

Dun Mordren Complete
The Dun Mordren arc is COMPLETE. This means all frozen RP is unfrozen, and everyone is welcome to get to assuming it all happened. Rumor posts and summaries will go up soon, and it will take me a few days to get through all the loot and XP, if not more.
But the important part: get out there on grid and RP the results, folks! This was a big deal and everyone involved is a BIG DAMN HERO.

New Command of Awesome!
Have you ever wanted to rumormonger or investigate after a PrP? Maybe you're running, and wanted to offer this to your players? Maybe you're in a scene, and thought something was really cool? Or, maybe you're a runner and would like to make it more evident to your players that there's more to do if they'd like to explore?
Well, we've been working to make that as easy as possible, because we think it's cool, too. Now, just type +events/leg and +events will auto-create a LEGwork! It will auto-add all of your confirmed players, too!
We hope you'll use this to plot and scheme, and otherwise harass Sandy lots!
Well, mostly the plotting and the scheming.
But the harassing is good, too!

Did you also know about these?
- +sheet/journal: A journal of your recent adventures! Use the journal commands (+help journal) to add your own entries, to keep track of important events in RP, and so on. There is a limit on the overall number of entries though, so you will eventually need to archive to your charpage.
- +selfboot: Tired of old connections sticking around? Try this!
- +sotd: Looking for an unusual place to RP, today? Try +sotd, short for Spot of the Day! It changes every 24 hours!
- +timestop: Sure, they can be used in the plot rooms. But did you know they can be used ongrid, too? Or, anywhere?
- +event/leg: Make a LEGwork +req based on your scene! It auto-adds all confirmed players, so they can rumormonger and investigate!

Gambit Finale Rules
A character may only go on one of those scenes. While preferences will be given to players who haven't gone on any but alts are perfectly welcome to go on these as well. :)
Those rules do not apply to the Monday scene. That's the conclusion ad everyone is invited. :)
Please sign up for the actual events on the day you want to go and not 'reservations' because those were just me planning schedules. <.<
There is plenty of room for PRPs here as well! And PRPs do not count towards your alts 'finale scene' limit. GO on as many of those as get run! Run one yourself!

Steady Shot, Crossbows, and You
Seeing as how crossbows need some love, we have decided to allow the feat, Steady Shot, to apply to them for now. We'd like to see if this increases the viability of crossbows even a little and allows for people whose concepts lean in that direction to be played a little more easily. If you have a crossbow user alt, please don't hesitate to submit a job to trade in for this feat.

Class Pages Update
We've made a small update to all class pages for utility's sake. Classes with spellcasting, familiars, or companions now list these on their page, as well as the bonus spells per level rules. The Magic page has been updated to include the bonus spells per level also.

Timebubbling
Since I've gotten a couple questions about how exactly this works, we generally assume anything timebubbled like Dun Mordren 'hasn't happened' until it's done. You're all free to carry on unrelated RP around that while assuming it hasn't happened yet. I know this can be a little awkward, but timing on MUSHes can be a little hard sometimes. :)

The King's Gambit
Narvin Forgeholm wants to be King of Dun Mordren.
To this end, he has seized the castle and named himself Regent. He has forces throughout Dun Mordren. for the next two weeks, all Dun Mordren related RP is time-bubbled as the various forces involved will duke it out and the dwarven city guard will be leading the charge to restore order to the city.

Gambit Notes
Okay, folks.
The Gambit is on for Sunday still. This will be a public scene setting the next stage of the plot into motion. From that point on, the events in Dun Mordren will be moving ahead through various events and scenes. They will be happening over a smaller space of time than it will take us to resolve them. Some of you have character's in scenes related to it already frozen. Those of you in that case will not be able to bring those characters to the public scene.

RPP Update!
Howdy! To streamline things a bit, we're opening the 'First Character Page' and 'Introduce Your PC' to all PCs, not just your first! This means that any approved PC may gain an RPP for making an intro post, and then another for fleshing out a charpage.
Originally, these were only for new players, but we've decided to open things up, because that is more fun.
We have hundreds of great PCs, and so are unable to award this retroactively. However, any PC approved after or during Sept 13th is eligable and can claim these bonuses!

New Player Bouses!
Once again, we seem to be having an influx of new peoples!
Because of this, we will be extending a couple of bonuses into the first two weeks of September.
Bonus number one: If you run a plot that has a new player in it, you will receive a bonus to your XP for running the plot.
The second bonus is for engaging in grid RP with the new players. If you RP with someone you haven't RP'd with before, we will award one extra RPP to any RPPs submitted for the scene! (Please be sure and let us know in the RPP!)

Did You Know About These CharDev Options?
We like character options and roleplay so much that over the years we've added options, and rewards, for investing in your personal story. We do this because your character's stories are important to us. If you're new, or perhaps an older player just looking around, here are a few ideas:
- Social Options Room: Want to list your homeland, or basic associations? Set them quickly and easily in this room!
- More: Type SO from the Gaming Table!
- Aspects: In a world filled with magic, Aspects are what happens when that magic begins to respond to a character on a personal level. Aspects are a Tiered RPP spend that grows as you level. They come in several flavors and varieties; is there one that fits your character?
- More: Aspects
- Exclusives: Exclusive RPP spends tend to represent a primary track or focus of your character. For example, is your character really dedicated to their organization? The Organization RPP spend offers benefits for being involved. Perhaps your character made a bad (or good) deal with an outsider, and you'd like that to develop and grow over time. If this interests you, check out Blood Pact!
- More: The Big List
- Short Stories: Short stories let us reward you for the stories you craft ongrid. For example, your character believes him or herself to be a master chef. You'd like to explore that, and the hilarious accidents on the way. Engage others in roleplay and share your tale, and gain bonuses, too!
- More: Small Stories
- Merchant's Vehicle: Looking for a seller's cart or a merchant's stall? Perhaps a hoverbike for your artificer? Check our our Small Vehicles spend. (These cannot substitute for a mount.)
- More: Vehicles
- Gain Ranks in Crafts, Profession, or Perform through Roleplay: What does your character do during their downtime? Check our our RPP options for advancing crafts, profession, and various perform skills through your roleplay.
- Meetups: Do you want to meet other Vardamen or the Ygdrassil Union? Arrange a Meetup, and receive rewards for meeting PCs you'd wanted to, anyway.
- More: Meetups
- Character Pages: Character pages say a lot about you. They also: provide a way to archive +sheet/journals, are a place to add badges, and include yourself in wiki categories. For example, if you're Elunan, you could add the Elunan tag. Someone clicking on the wiki category, "Elunan," would bring up a list of the Elunans ingame--including you! However, only if you add the tag.
- +sheet/journal: Did you know your journal updates when a plot finishes? If you'd like to add more detail (or notes), check out +help journal. You can add to and edit your own entries, too!

Release Package 20!
Alexandria's always been the little guy surrounded by behemoths. No matter how hard they've tried, Alexandria's survived it all. The Rose Treaty celebrates these battles--a week filled with reenactments, celebrations, and parades, it's a Big Deal.
...but in a battle against behemoths, you need some armor, so to celebrate, we're pleased to announce Release Package 20! In it, you will find:
- New armor and shields!
- A new format for the armor and shields page!
- New token spends for Blood Pact, Ancestral Weapon, and Org!
- New materials!
- The Extra Panache Feat!
- New Ki powers!
- New page for org-specific items!
- Updates to Sun-Touched and Stone-Born Aspects!
As with all new content, there may be adjustments down the line as feedback and play comes in! In the meantime, game on, and thank you all for making Tenebrae what it is today.

Ultimate Combat Errata
Most of the recent UC errata should now be reflected on the wiki. The areas that applied to us were primarily tweaks to a few feats here and there. Most notably, the Dragon Style, Crane Wing, and Moonlight Stalker feat lines.

Legwork!
Legwork is a mechanic that becomes increasingly important the higher level you are. Enemies become more clever. Going toe to toe with the master vampire may be the final 5 percent of the plot. So, how do you get in on that?

The Chalice are a largely sorcerer-based group who believes that seeks to understand the Ways of the Stars and Moon. They believe their blood and blessings afford them special insight--and who knows? They could be right!

The month of August celebrates the ROSE TREATY! Alexandros has always been the scrappy underdog--an island in the midst of behemoths. Independence is a big deal. An important deal. Combat Manager!
Everyone who wants to run PRPs would do well to download Combat Manager. It automatically figures things like CRs for the creatures and entire encounters FOR you so you can balance your fights more easily! It also lets you do things like track HPs per creature.
It is a great program every Pathfinder DM should use. :)

Alt Sweepage
Over time, many of us collect a lot of PCs! This is generally a GOOD thing. However, sometimes an idea or two does not work out. From now until the 16th, we'll be offering some "alt forgiveness." That is, if you have an alt of 4th or higher you don't care for any longer, you may decide to toss them into Mt. Doom. ...and gain a half level on any 1 other alt of your choice.
Some things to know:
- This is irreversible. They will be tossed into Mr. Doom on the spot. :(
- Be sure and transfer your RPPs ahead of time.
- You can do this once.
- Offer expires at the end of this month.

Our L12s and Higher!
If you're a L12+ PC who took on a Flaw after we'd introduced them, we went ahead and awarded you the L4 bonus on the spot. We'll now be handing out the L12 bonus, which is 10 RPP! If you're interested, please +req in and in a few lines, let us know how it's shaped your story.
Normally, you'd just do this as you hit L12, but as we'd introduced Flaws really only this year (or late last), this is a new thing. Think of it as playing catch-up; we'd still like to give y'all your points!

Release Package 19!
Need new spells? We've got you covered! Release Package 19 has additional spells from the APG for many of our classes--druids and bards should take a look, especially! We've also added:
- New spells for many classes!
- Our new Organization and Influence Limiteds are now live! Please +request if you need to convert a previous Face About Town or Card-Carrying!
- New Token spends for Influence and Orgs...
- New social options available through Chargen, including the ability to list your Nationality! To set these options for existing PCs, use the temporary exit in the Gaming Table. Later on, you'll be able to access them anytime through the last room in Chargen.
Release Package tightens up some loose ends and expands your options. Please let us know if you've any questions or would like some assistance with the new material.

New Social Options Room
Some of you may have noticed some tinkering going on in the +where. We are getting ready to launch the new Social Options room, which will let you select and list a nationality, among other things, for your character, right on your sheet that you'll be able to set.
We're also taking feedback and finalizing the new Limited spends for Organizations and Influence, as well as adding a few new abilities here and there.
These will go live, soon! In addition, down the line we'll be adding more exclusive magic items and materials to organizations--things you'd have easier access to, just as a "thank you" for being part.

+where Upgrade!
We've gone ahead and replaced the standard +where with the +lwhere output. It's snazzier!
Release Package 18!
Hey, there! We're pleased to announce the release of Release Package 18! In it, you will find:
- New slotless items
- Athletics!!
- The feat Fencing Grace!
- Some snazzy new code updates! First, all negative levels are all listed on +sheets! Second, +lwhere has been merged with +where, for extra sparkles.
- A new Token spend for Blood Pact.

Those of you who possessed Climb and Swim, will note some changes to your +sheet. Your ranks in Climb were converted to Athletics automagically. Swim was converted to 'Extra.' Please +req for reallocating these skills, or for just general goofiness, sparkly hats, and asking about the latest designer plumed hats for arvek.

Old Climb and Swim Items
Some items we will be making adjustments to in the future. Others are more situational, and so their bonuses will end up being added separately, when that version of the skill is used.
For example, we'll be adjusting Rings of Climbing to Rings of Athletics, but a Climbing Kit will probably need applied by the user when performing that function (it may not make sense to have a combo Swim/Climb kit)
We'll be handling these as they come up (and when I finish coughing, augh).

LFG, part 2: Mentors and Guides!
Organizations allow you to meet others, and can provide a strong framework that lends depth to RP...as well as greatly expanding your social resources.
What about getting involved in the first place, though?
Are you interested in mentoring? By mentoring, we mean both ooc guidance and ic support--more a guide or helpful friendship instead of master-apprentice (which we don't really do).
Mentoring (ooc and ic) is a great way to make friends, and help others become involved--as well as be there to answer questions such as, "So now that I'm part of the Vardamen Temple, just what's been going on?" to "I heard your PC was pretty good at undead research. Could we meet and RP?"
Please let me know if your PC is available to mentor, and in what. Also, if you are looking to meet others, keep in mind what you're interested in as an opportunity for that may just come up!
In the meantime, you can advertise by +rpwho (+help who) and by tagging your character page. (See me if you're unsure how.)

LFG, part 1
In just a week or two, we'll be celebrating the Expo! Here are a few of the groups that will be there:
Order Paramount! A longtime favorite, the Order is active in the Arena district and elsewhere. It is also a favorite of more physical types...or those who just enjoy a good competition.
Progressive Arcanists: The Arcanists have seen a resurgence in recent years. Many outside the Arcanists understimated their new director...much to their chargrin. Not only have the Arcanists cornered the market in usnusual wear, they've also forged ahead in new research, and worked to establish their identity as "Alexandrians" rather than "transplanted Runites."
...to some who could use a little love:
Pastoral Shapers: Diplomats, druids, rangers and more. The Pastorals work to unify the differences between the wild and farm, or wild and city. They also work to tend crops and ensure a good harvest.
Hunters of the Dead: The Hunters have received a surge in recent years, though they too are recovering from the decimation of the Vardaman Temple so many years past. They've seen a surge of Serrielites among their ranks, as well as other faiths, and the whisper, "Against Heth!" grows.
...and some who embody knighthood of all stripes:
The Knights of the Seal: The Void is Ea's greatest, perhaps unknown threat. The Knights of the Seal guard against its influence in a thankless and eternal vigil.
...and those who despite the name, do not, such as the Order of the Cockatrice, who war only in glory's name!

We Like Rewarding Character Development
Tenebrae offers several avenues, and rewards, for investing in character development. We do this because your stories are important to us. If you're new, or perhaps an older player just looking around, here are a few options and means to gather rewards for investing in a character's story:
- Aspects: A world filled with magic, Aspects are what happen when that magic begins to respond to a character on a personal level. Aspects are a tiered spend that gain more oomph as you level, and as you invest in them. They come in several flavors and varieties; is there one that fits your character?
- Exclusives: Exclusive RPP spends tend to represent a primary track or focus of your character. For example, is your character really dedicated to their organization? The Organization RPP spend offers benefits for being involved. Perhaps your character made a bad (or good) deal with an outsider, and you'd like that to develop and grow over time. Look at Blood Pact.
- Short Stories: Short stories let us reward you for the stories you craft ongrid. For example, your character believes him or herself to be a master chef. You'd like to explore that, and the hilarious accidents on the way. Engage others in roleplay and share your tale. We'll reward you for it.
- Ongrid Accessories: Looking for a seller's cart or a merchant's stall? Perhaps a hoverbike for your artificer? Check our our Small Vehicles spend.

- Gain Ranks in Crafts or Profession through Roleplay: What does your character do during their downtime? Check our our RPP options for advancing crafts, profession, and various perform skills through your roleplay.

- Meetups: Do you have an interest, such as the Vardamen or the Ygdrassil Union? Arrange a Meetup, and receive rewards for organizing roleplay among these groups. Note: larger groups work better for Meetups, though combining several smaller groups works great!

- Character Pages: Character pages say a lot about you. They also: provide a way to archive +sheet/journals, are a place to add badges, and include yourself in interest categories. For example, if you're Elunan, you could add the Elunan tag. Or, add the faith badge as an easy means to identify yourself and share with others.
- +sheet/journal: A new command, your journal updates when a plot finishes. Or, add to and edit entries on your own. It only keeps the most recent 20, however. Please archive important entries on your character page.

Welcome to Release Package 17! A big thanks goes to Whiteout, who just finished coding two new classes. Two. Seriously.

Monk
Howdy! This is a heads-up that, sometime next week, we will have some big announcements! One of those will be our transition towards the Unchained monk.
We have talked about this transition for some time. This is just to let folks know that it is official. This post is just so you can begin planning, and become familiar with the new content. The old monk page has been swapped out to let you do this.
In the meantime, there is no reason to discontinue playing your PCs. We hae always had a friendly adjustment policy, and until everything is officially in play, things work just like they did before.
Also in the meantime, please send Whiteout flowers, cookies, hugs, and big thanks for his hard work behind the scenes!

Small Stories Rewards!
We have really been listening to your feedback on this one. Short story examples, such as Aspect stories, Mentoring stories, and so on are now included, and the breakdown is shorter and sweeter than before.
We have also sorted out rewards: a level 10 PC for example, could earn 2400 xp and 3 RPP for completing one, once a month, in addition to the RPP they'd earned on the way. Oh, and treasure, too.
Rewards are limited to once a month per player, not character.
Calendar Reminder
As you all know, we keep all our IC Holidays on the +events. Sometimes, people feel a little leery of tackling doing things with these themselves. Please don't hesitate. If you have a fun idea for Kegger Fest (come on, it's Kegger Fest), do it. Same for Deathwatch. If you have any concerns, approach a member of staff directly. We'll help you out!

Batman began somewhere. Though that moment in the alleyway is not the sum of who he is, it is a part of it--a reason that he's who he is, today. Backgrounds in a sense, are like that--not the definition of a character, but a beginning.
