Types of Actions in Pathfinder
Action Per Round Examples
Free 1-3 Brief actions: yell a few words, drop a weapon; total actually depends on DM and horse sense
Move 1 Has two subtypes: 5' step or normal move
Standard 1 A single attack, use of an ability, casting most spells
Swift 1 Initiate smite, start rage--an action not quite fast enough to be 'free' but quick nonetheless
Full Attack 1 When using FA, you may only take 1 swift action, 1 move (5' step), and as many free actions as the DM allows; you may not take a standard action or a move (normal move)
