Crying over sunk ships
That offered orange slice is again taken daintily by the Gobbo with her teeth, and she munches cheerfully before licking her lips. "I'm saying what needs to be said.", she offers to the Giantborn, with a shrug of her shoulders. "So what you're saying is that he can't leave Alexandros?" Murder shrugs her shoulders again. "And I spoke to why he won't answer. He doesn't think you will believe him, so in his eyes it does not matter. He is afraid."
The Goblin and Banshee share a spot under the shade of a tree, Murder seated upon the ground, while Banshee is settled on a bench. "If he did give you an answer, what would you do then?"
Yelrona steps out of Tarien's Temple, in animated discussion with two women dressed in orange and green, one giantborn and one gnomish. Coincidentally they all have similar coloration, and standing side by side they resemble a set of matryoshka dolls. The giantborn winds up a long account, and Rona and the gnome burst out laughing -- apparently she was telling a joke. They part company, and Rona spots Banshee and Murder sharing an orange while Morgan passes by selling apples. She joins the three, hands Morgan a copper and picks out four apples, which she shares among the four of them as she listens curiously to the conversation.
Morgan is stoped by a few people and gives them a few apples and is more then hapy to let Rona have one more since she did not buy these apples her self. "No I wont be selling apples after these are gone, I had found a apple tree in the forest." said to some one a copper to sort but gets a apple for free.
One leg gets crossed over the other at the knee and Banshee lets out a sigh as she carefully cuts into the orange again. Her eyes flick over toward Murder again, "No. It means that I couldn't try to bring him in /unless/ he was somewhere that allowed extradition to Charn, or didn't disallow it anyway. I'm not about to follow him around constantly just /waiting/ to see if he does." About half the orange is already gone as she slices another piece off for the gobber.
This slice though is teased, held a bit out of range a few times before finally giving it to Murder. "In any case, if he doesn't tell his side, then I would have to believe the only side that is spoken. I haven't run into any of the others from that bounty - not yet anyway."
The Gobbo bites at the orange several times, the last few with a decided click of teeth as she tries harder. She chews triumphantly on the slice when she does manage to get it. She, too, lets out a sigh, and she shakes her head. "I am sure there is information missing from what was told to you, Banshee. I also don't believe that you have to believe the only side who has spoken." Murder looks away a moment. "Chay is a friend. It is why I am making a fuss about this." When Morgan come near, Murder offers a wave, and when Yelrona presents her with an apple, the Gobber's eyes open wide. That apple is quickly swiped, and is quickly devoured. Every last bit. "Thank you!", she mumbles between bites.
Yelrona nods, pleased by Murder's enthusiasm, and takes a bite out of her own. It is ripe, not quite as crunchy as she prefers but sweet and delicious, and she smiles as juice runs down her chin. "If you don't mind my intruding," she asks, "who are we talking about here?"
Morgan gives every one a smile and moves on as she has more to sell. "Apples for sell, buy one and a anoying half elf will move on." said as she aproaches people trying to pretend she is not there, but she does move on.
"Politics, law and order, and the unwillingness of a person to speak of their innocence." Banshee says to Yelrona before nodding her head and lookign in the direction of the little green eating machine. "It's not my responsibility to say if the ruling of a country is just, if that were so then anyone could argue with any country. It would be chaos, that is not how things work."
Banshee cuts into the orange again, her eyes looking down to the fruit as she slices into it. Her mouth pulls off to the side, making the scarred cheek deepen the cuts. "There may be information missing, but if there is, only Chay or one of the other accused can bring it to light. Chay is instead acting guilty and throwing insults. That is not the attitude of an innocent man. I am not judging him, Charn would if they got a hold of him."
Yelrona chuckles. "Well, yes, that much I understood," she allows. "I meant who, as in whose innocence is at issue here?" She clearly does not agree with Banshee's view of the way things work, but she says nothing for now. She nods when he adds the accused's name... not someone she knows.
Murder looks away while Banshee slices off another slice, but she peeks to see if it is offered up. She shrugs. "It may not be the responsibility of you to say whether or not the ruling of a country is just. But it behooves you to at least reasonably ascertain whether or not it is truth. As it is, Charn can say that someone is guilty, and you might bring that person in?" She rubs her scarred cheek and shrugs once more. "You don't know Chay, so how can you say his behaviour is not that of someone innocent? I told you, he is scared." The Gobbo huffs. "But enough of that for now. We are just going in circles." She nods to Yelrona. "A boat got sunk in one of Charn's harbours, and a friend of mine is accused of sinking it. Banshee has said they were here to take Chay in to Charn, if he weren't in a place where this was forbidden."
Yelrona nods slowly to Murder, growing more interested. She's already run into the bounty hunter's rigid mindset on such matters, and between that and her affection for the Gobber she finds herself sympathetic to this Chay person, sight-unseen. "And you don't think your friend Chay sunk the boat, I take it." She thinks about it for a bit. "Who is investigating the incident?"
"I'm not here to take him in, but I wouldn't pass by if I could. There's many people that are probably after Chay." Banshee looks between the three of them, giving a bite to the orange and then cutting the last section in half. She gives the first one to Murder as she gives a sigh, long, drawn out.
"We are just going in circles, and Charn investigated it. It was in their harbor at Hextus. The ship was owned by a Charnese citizen."
Morgan has left.
Murder leans up to take the orange piece from Banshee, and as before the orange piece is eaten whole. She looks to Yelrona then, and shakes her head. "I haven't decided one way or another if I believe Chay is innocent or guilty of a crime. I would like to think that if, somehow, Chay was involved, there'd be a damned good reason. Considering what Charn has done, and continues to do, to his people, Chay might take actions against Charn. It's entirely possible, but I do not know."
The Goblin looks to Banshee then. "But what was in the ship? Do you know? That might be worth investigating."
Yelrona nods. She's inclined to agree about Charn, and she makes a mental note to ask around about this Chay person.
Banshee looks to Murder and holds the last piece out for her too, giving a raise of her eyebrow as she slowly bounces her foot. "Charn isn't saying, and neither is Chay." She gives another stroke along ehr chin and glances to Yelrona, "Or, I guess I mean to say - no one is investigating it /now/. The event was already investigated back in Charn where the crime was committed."
The Gobber quickly snaps up the last piece, munching happily. "Thank you.", she says sweetly. "Those are quite tasty, where did you find them, Banshee? And uh, yeah, neither of them are saying. But I think I may go looking." She sits up a little and stretches noisily. "Well, I am glad things are at least civil, in this whole matter."
Yelrona nods, and seems to make up her mind about something. "If you wish assistance investigating the matter, Murder, just let me know."
