Razen Hell
You have made your way through the fortress with the aid of some of your group who were left behind to guard your backs. So far you see no sign of anyone giving chase, so you assume that they are faring well in their endeavor. The fortress itself is fairly straightforward as far as such things go. Again your party splits however, when confronted with the guards who protect the false duke. Some of you go ahead, taking a roundabout path that is sure to lead to Charles. The rest of you remain here.
Before you stands a single, but massive oruch with a slave collar around his neck. He cracks his knuckles ominously his eyes glancing from one side to the other before facing you head on. There’s a grim look on his face, and though there seems something hesitant about you he also appears willing to fight. He growls once and slaps his chest to egg you forward.
Sasha seems to be willing to move forward, but she simply keeps quiet. She tilts her head at the Oruch's collar, but doesn't say anything. It's possible he's fighting for his own freedom.
Lucy glances over the Oruch quickly. She can't recall having met Razen personally, but from the description she was given - tall half-Oruch with a heavy flail - she is reasonably certain this isn't him. She draws her rapier, a two-foot length of gleaming steel, and then points it at the Oruch. "This is a rescue! We're not here for you, but we can accomodate!"
Hun'rar raises his shield and lays his sword across the top, pointed at the Oruch. "Indeed, "he says following Lucy's words. "..stand aside and allow us passage and we can all be firm friends." he says trying to be convincing despite appearing ready for a fight.
Yelrona considers the oruch guard carefully, and nods agreement with Lucy. "You are not being given nearly a good enough reason to die for your masters. They are unworthy of that service. I recommend you withdraw, while honor still permits it." <yrch-speak>
Tiasa looks over the others and then to the Oruch and cocks her head to the side, She considered saying something but lets the others that aren't as...wild as her negotiate. Electricity dances across her storm looking breastplate.
Sasha says, "it's also possible he may not be one of Adom's, Yelrona." She says before looking towards the oruch. "You do know of the healer, correct?""

The Oruch seems to deflate slightly at Yelrona's words, and responds to them in his native tounge. "I have no choice. Those here with me will kill me if I run." There's the sound of a curse behind the Oruch and the collared slave makes a pained noise as suddenly two men appear on either side of him. Their invisiblity ruined when they smacked the Oruch in unision.
They unlike the slave have no collars, and order him forward in tradespeak. 'Move or die you stupid slave!’ He does as they bid, but not happily. <yrch-speak>
Yelrona says "Then do not run. Stand and fight them, with us!" <yrch-speak>
The Oruch stumbles forward, raising his fists and glancing back at the guards meaningfully before speaking to Yelrona. "Kill at least one of them, and gladly I'll join you." He moves forward just the same, ready to fight. <yrch-speak>

Lucy begins to shift forward. Her free hand drifts behind her back. Then she blurts out, "Slavery is against the law in Alexandros!" Her hand whips forward, a dagger spinning through the air at one of the slavers. It goes just wide. It reappears in her hand and she tries an overhand throw this time, but this one also misses. Pouting slightly, Lucy stammers, "That...that was your only warning!"

Tiasa growls a bit. "Naca, go help her." she calls out even as her body sharts to change and shift. She grows and swells, her breastplate seems to go with her. When the cracking of muscles and bones finishes, in Tiasa's place is a massive Monitor Lizard, the Large lizard roars out and seems to get mad, calling on her inner rage as well. The top half of the monitor lizard looks like a storm cloud with lightning dancing across it. Meanwhile, the wolf sized monitor lizard that travels with Tiasa moves forward and bites the guard that attacked Yelrona, latching its teeth deep into it. The large lizard moves forward up to where Yelrona, Naca and the Guard are fighting.
"Sorry about this." The oruch slave says as he swings weakly and without much heart behind his swing. He looks embarrassed by his own efforts, and by the fact that he's fighting at all. <yrch-speak>

Lucy moves up to follow after the bigger warriors, her feet a blur of motion. She circles completely around one of the slavers, her voice growing shrill with excitement. "No, really. Against the law!" She stabs her rapier into the back of the Mul's thigh. "The good news is, we can spare you the hassle of a trial, and gaol time. That's because we're adventurers and we can't arrest slavers. We can only kill them!"
Yelrona sighs. "We all do what we have to. I am here to free the enslaved, not to kill them, and will spare you for as long as I can." Meanwhile she fires a volley of arrows at Hun'rar's target, turning him into a pincushion. A dead pincushion. "The question is," she asks him, "are you a oruch of your word?" <yrch-speak>

"We all protect each other," Rona replies as her arrows take down one of Chu's attackers. <yrch-speak>
GAME: Sasha casts Spiritual Ally. Caster Level: 9 DC: 18
Lucy's targets seem to be slowing down. Perhaps they're getting tired, or perhaps they really are shaken by the loss of so many of their comrades. In any case she manages to slip a few blows past his guard, stabbing him in the leg and then in the calf. Her weapon is so light and her strikes so precise, that he might not even feel it at first. But they're the kind of wounds that will rob their victim of strength and steadiness.

As the slaver goes down, Sasha walks her way over to Lucy and places her hand on the top of her head, healing the woman's wounds like that. She then looks to Chuvarr and speaks to him in fluid Yrch. "No ally gets left behind. None."

Seeing their comrades broken on the floor leaves the two remaining guards with two options they don't like. So they pick the one more likely to leave them alive - running. They bolt for it.

Tiasa sees the two making a run for it and suddenly moves pretty fast. The massive lizard darts down the way, past the two and gets in front of them, biting at one of the two and dropping him.
For a moment Chuvarr stands there, and then there are tears in his eyes. He switches to his native tongue and nods. "I had forgotten what it is like to have real comrades." Then the guards make a break for it and he tears after them. Without breaking stride he tackles the one that Tiasa doesn't hit, bowling into the man like a mac truck and screaming all the way.

Yelrona vaguely considers keeping the last slaver alive to interrogate. Then she looks at Chuvarr and shoots the bastard.
GAME: Sasha rolls 1d20+9+4: (2)+9+4: 15 GAME: Sasha casts Chains of Perdition. Caster Level: 9 DC: 17
Sasha tilts her head at Chuvarr and actually aims to laser the mul's face off...but then remembers that there's another objective here. She then concentrates, and glowing chains appear and pin the mul down. "Get some ropes and tie him up...." She says kicking his sword away. "We have some information to get out of him."
With the last guard bound and heavily injured by arrows, it takes some (minor - really just a request) effort to get Chuvarr off of the man before your fight is complete. It's been a hard-won battle, but you made it. The slavers have been defeated. Now all that remains... is to hope the rest of your party can bring down the fake 'duke'.
