  • Summary: Some discussion of food turns to how two gobbers, Irshya and Pirkko, worship Rada, each having their own ways about it. Warrick's daughter Cynthia comes in asking for some takeout she can give to her dad, since he's fallen under the weather. Pirkko offers to take a look at him as well as keep the teen company on her walk back to the Soldier's Defense.

<AN: this log is incomplete>

"They reduced and pickled the creature, then blended it with bone, and marrow to make the cake jiggle. It was cold, and needed to set." Pirkko says, offering a shrug. "It wasn't exactly sweet. Rich, with a blend of earth, and then some sort of jam was used as garnish on the top." not the best at describing such things. She's not a culinarian. "It had a layer of normal cake at the bottom, adding body to it." a fan of food, still.

"A tail?" These words a soft whisper as she finishes her drink, and peers at Irshya with a raised brow. It really just makes one eye appear larger that the orther. Two uneven orbs of red. "Oh! By Rada's blessing. Any sailor worth their salt... has dreamed of that!" words low, but excited.

Irshya's expression casts doubt on her eagerness to enjoy such a dessert, and she hmmms. "Well, we do serve monster meals here, where monsters have been cooked up into tasty dinners. Nothing intelligent, though. Maybe we can catch a gelatin cube some day. See what the cooks can do."

Her grin is broad as she nods, "A tail. Irshya is glad her robes are able to cover it." She blinks... her cheeks suddenly changing to a lavender colour which begins to deepen into a purple.

Pirkko blushes, and looks away. "Or I had. I don't swim well..." she admits, laughing as a hand rises to run through her tufts of white mohawk. "Being on the sea is freeing, but to thread through it? A liberation. Rada's domain, but one most can't walk without magic." waving off the complement, and trying to explain. "I..." a finger raising and a small swirling mist forming at a tip of a finger. It takes shape, a minature storm cloud formed by will, dissipating once she breaks her concentration. "Have been touched by his storm."

Irshya laughs lightly, and pats at the bartop a few times. "The baths here are deep enough for us to swim in, but there are seats so that one can relax. Would you like to learn how to swim? Later, later, when it is quieter, but Irshya would be happy to help out. And she could... show off her tail a little."

She blinks a few times and peers, "Touched... by his storm?"

Pirkko sits at the bar, Irshya tending it as the pistachio woman finishes her mixed drink of orange and red. "I would gladly see it sometime with you." she says, the glass being set aside as she lets out a nod. "The weather and those who travel under it fulfilling his will. Two things that Rada has put to me to mind on my journey. To understand, and protect." a simple shrug offered as they hover between two topics.

"Father Maldova wasn't one to hide in a hole, or stick to one place. Rada's influence is all over Ea, and the path of his touch is more than just the sea. All water. Rains, and sometimes even snows. His way of life touches all, as sometimes he must bathe and cleanse those who try and alter it." shrugging. "Religion, and philosophy."

"Irshya will show you, later then?" Her expression grows solemn as Pirkko speaks of being storm-touched. As the other Gobbo speaks, Irshya's hands pour drinks, and send them sliding along the bartop, and occasionally setting them on trays for the servers to deliver to customer tables.

"Irshya gets goosebumps when you talk about it that way. Irshya has not had a formal ... introduction to such things. Only what her mother could teach. It was enough, for Rada does answer my prayers. Irshya has traveled the deep and the shallows, and across the surface on the floating houses. Even many rivers. She has seen little of the world, though."

The door to the TarRaCe opens with a brisk motion, trying to keep the chill out. A short figure bobs through, taller than the gobbers, but shorter than the adults. A human teen with pitch black hair, slate eyes, and a smattering of freckles, she's bobbing up to the bar, cheeks red from the chill.

She finds a seat near the two, looking back and forth at the discussion before she pipes up- "Heeey. Do you guys do takeout...?" she asks of Irshya, feet kicking off a stool.

"Education matters not to Rada. Two different connections to the same place. Both equal." A wink cast to Irshya as she turns as she hears Warrick's daughter, shifting to let her red-yellow eyes focus on her features. "You are related to Warrick, yes?" she asks. "I am bad with names. Takes a while for them to... catch." she says, tapping the side of her head. "This place is much better than the noodles, trust me." a grin flashed to Irshya. "Do you do takeout?"

"Cause I would take some to my room. Never thought if it. I tend to just market hop..." Pirkko turning back to Irshya. "Oh, you could hire runners!" she teases. "Deliver within the walls. Wait, that would require to keep food hot. Logistics. Development. Not so simple." the thought of it seeming to grow complicated quickly.

Irshya peers at the young woman who settles nearby, and cants her head at the question of take out.

She glances at Pirkko, catching the wink and nodding minutely.

"So two takeout orders? Irshya wonders what it is you would both like?" Two modest sized baskets are retrieved from under the bar. "We have thought of runners, yes, but honestly, people usually prefer to just take it themselves. Generally they have to get here in the first place, and then, take it home.

"But Irshya is pleased that you have thought of these things. Runners would work, if we knew in advance what was ordered. Such a thing could be arranged though. Perhaps Irshya might hire more staff. If it proves popular..."

The teen quirks a brow, looking Pirkko over. "Uh, yeah? That's my dad. I'm Cynthia, don't you forget it!" she cheekily enthuses. "Yeah, I know, my friend Lomi and I get food here if we're in this part of town. That noodle place was pretty good thou- OH! Pirkko! I remember! Hi!"

She wobbles on her chair. "Umm... can I get... do you guys still have basilisk soup? Or, what kind of stew you got? Dad isn't feeling too good and he said the Defense was nice but he would go crazy if he had thinned tomato soup and bread again," she babbles.

The notion of having runners gets a big grin on her face. "Oh my Serri, /yes/ that's such a good idea! I could get food delivered to my house!"

Pirkko uhs, and laughs. She won't forget it now. But she already had. Awkward. But at least the teen is cute. "Cynthia. That's right." the goblin affirms, looking over the girl, and back towards the door. "Not feeling too good?" that causing concern, the small woman coming off her stool to dig in her pack for a small book and kit. "What's goin on? He got the chills, and fever? Or is it something else? Festering?" the talk of sick something the goblinoid takes seriously. "I can get something. Has he seen the Soldier's Defense?" health a serious mater. As much as water.

"Stew is a good start. Maybe some spice. Is the nose plugged?" Pirkko beginning to have their fun, cracking the case open and measuring her vials and herbs. "I can see him."

Cynthia gets her order down with Irshya before the pool shark vanishes to fulfill the order- goat stew. And an order of spicy chicken. That one's for Cynthia. After handing over the coinage, she taps her lip. "Umm... no, he's not feeling too good. Kind of sick. He thinks he caught something when a big bug bit him."

She bobs her head in an exaggerated manner. "Yuh-huh. He's at the Defense. Bored. Well, he /says/ he's not bored, but he is. Um, he's got a fever yeah. And he won't let me look at it but the bite is pretty nasty, I sneekied a peeky."

She pulls out a cracker. Where did she get that? Who knows, but she breaks it in half and offers one to Pirkko. She giggles. "We can put that house hot sauce in it as a joke, but I don't think he'd like that very much. Maybe later. Um, you want to see him? I... guess. Sure."

Pirkko blinks. "Oh." Silly shorthand slang. She only knows proper names of things. Defense, she thought she meant the man's health. Cultural human things. More so when a teen is involved. "Well, I am not as fancy as those there, but I have seen some things in my time on the road." she assures, grinning. "If anything. He'll at least be glad to see a familiar face, and warm food, right?"

"Both Irshya and I server Rada, and my talents happen to lay close to the realm of water. Things that nurture life, yeah?" she says with a grin. "Fancy talk for a part-time healer."

The orders are given to them, Cynthia picking up her basket as she munches on her cracker. "Owh, owhight," she says with her mouth full. A glance to the Rada symbology in the building, then to Pirkko before giving a sharp thumbs up. Big gulp. "Guh. Okay! Maybe you can do something. Who knows. Alright. Um. Are you ready to go? It's pretty cold out there and the Defense is like, you know, a lotta blocks that way," she gestures in a random direction, the teen on her feet and bouncing on the balls of them.

Pirkko has now seen that it might of been a bit premature to let this one roam alone. This was an 'adventure' of sorts, and with a smirk she will now not let the girl walk alone. Her pack is packed, and the containers of food are helped carried as she motions towards the door. "We can go whenever."

"So, how do you like Alexandria?" Pirkko probes, easy questions. Ones for the girl to answer as much or little as she wished.

Cynthia gathers her things, fixing her jacket up and has her basket in hand, ready to go. "Oh, thanks," she mentions at the help, her taking a step towards the door. "Alexandria? It's pretty cool. I like it a lot! I've lived here my entire life, just like dad. I probably might leave when I'm old enough, just for a little bit, you know?" she babbles freely. "Grandma and grandpa need help with their shop, my aunt can't do it all, and dad's busy doing... whatever it is now."

"Oh, fascinating. Shops, and history here? I travel. I has only just recently become my home. Thought... I have family here." Pirkko muses, as they make their way, her hand tapping on the rounded nub she calls a chin. "He's working. It's tough work, and sometimes not as rewarding as it should be." she notes, admitting it's rough. "Even if it means sick days, and gold spent on things best saved for others. Life ebbs and flows. You'll see it, his change and growth. Just watch him." she muses as she leads on to the Soldier's Defense.

"You thought you have family here?" Cynthia repeats, shouldering the door and stepping outside. "My dad might know? He was part of the Watch for a while. When he's feeling better, he could point you in the right direction?"

A little sigh leaves her. "Yeah. It's hard work. I know. I dunno, maybe he'll change. He's always been pretty like. I dunno? Straightforward? He's doing his best, I think, especially now. At least he can choose to work when he wants."

She puts on a fuzzy hat. It's got a pom on the end of it. "Do... you like boats? Boats are cool. The airships are cool too."

She seems content to ramble the entire way there.

"Cousins, but I didn't know them well. My parents died, and they were poor." Pirkko admits, shrugging. "I was adopted by a priest, and while I got to see them sometimes, I was more a stranger." giving the girl just a bit of her tale. "I do like boats, I am a sailor. Was. Part-time. Coin is hard to get you see. Or at least, accumulate and keep. It takes a lot of effort." she says with a laugh, but then here she is offering her services for free. It's a contrast, but it seems life is worth far more than coin. "I like him. I like his gruff. The world needs a strong hand at times. Spank the ass of darkness." continuing their talk of family and personalities to find Warrick.
