Ecclesia is a small sovereign realm located within the greater girth of The Kingdom of the Lion and the headquarters for the Church of Daeus and the principle temples and churches of the gods that are primarily honored in Myrddion. Ecclesia has influenced western philosophy and religion for millennia, inheriting the teachings of the Aegena Gospels. Overall this religious thinking is known as the Church of Ea and the Church of Ea is itself made up of independent temple orders which themselves work together to form the greater good and the religious viewpoint of most people in civilized lands in Gaea. The Church of Daeus and the Chosen Prophet of Daeus are traditionally held to be the leaders of the Church of Ea. In short, Ecclesia is a theocracy that honors the existence of all the gods and gives sovereign authority to Daeus and the pantheon affiliated with him. The Shrine of the Sun within the High Court Cathedral stands as the prominent temple structure. Neutral deities are also afforded respect through the Shrine of the Evening while evil deities, though acknowledged through art and the Shrine of Night, are seen as the Prime Evils who stand in opposition to creation and serve The Void.
Though the Chosen Prophet is the traditional leader of the Church of Ea and the Temple of Daeus his leadership where the country is concerned primarily concerns matters of state and dealings with The High Kingdom. He has no religious authority within the actual individual temples that are represented in Ecclesia. Temples of the other gods of light all maintain their own orders and hierarchies and in some cases only represent a small portion of that deities followers. For example, Angoron is honored in Myrddion as Kestriel the Watch Warden but Angoron's most powerful and potent clergy are actually based out of Dran.
Despite this, the influence of the church of Daeus is astronomical in many aspects of Myrrish life ranging from edicts that impacted political viewpoints on the nature of War Golems to the crowning and anointing of the High King as King over all the western realms and Holy King. Without the proof of royalty and the anointing by the High Priest, traditionally the Kings of Myrddion are not recognized as the High King and thus they play a very important ceremonial role in many areas of life.
