- Summary: Cryosanthia has been seeking information for Mikilos in Mictlan when Ezil and Kaelyn arrive. Ezil is troubled by his experience with the corrupted child and the demons while Kaelyn hopes to resolve her body control with people who understand scales, tails, and giant lizards. Cryosanthia does her best, listening to Ezil and offering her perspective, while teaching Kaelyn with a rod and some exercises.

Located within the Deep Woods, and hours past Wilderness Pointe, in the heart of its northern woods, bones frame this hollowed-out space. Massive and heavy, they reach towards the sky, meeting--almost--in the center like great and worn stalagmites. Or giant teeth. After a few seconds--it's quickly evident that this is a space carved from a dragon's bones. A very, very large...dragon's bones. The air smells of ash, brimstone, and earth. Underneath the apex of the bones lie the workings of a central Fire.
The grounds are run by shamans of the sith-makar, and the sacred space dedicated to the Death Singing Dragon, one of their names for the goddess, Vardama. There are always a number of them about, from a mixture of tribes. Formally, the sith use it to sing the souls of their dead back to the land of Wing and Flame, and celebrate the Memory of Blood. It was here that brave heroes stood, and vanquished the ashen warriors of old, thereby freeing the land from Thul's curse. Informally, it is a gathering place.

It's evening at Mictlan, the fires are have died down to mostly embers. Heat radiates from the rocks surrounding the firepit. Some cauldrons with dregs of soup are cooling nearby. Several sith-makar are stretched out near the fire, sleeping in the heat.
Cryosanthia has been here for most of the evening, hoping Svarshan will arrive. In the meantime she has been talking with the Shamans, trying to find the equivalent of a Priest or Priestess of Vardaman. So far, she's been unsuccessful, but they are aware.
Ezil is quiet as he makes his way on to Mictlan grounds, eyes roaming about this sacred space as he can feel the heat still radiate from the stones. He takes a moment, to take in the odd structures, a moment taken to process them as bone, and this place being the remains of what once was a massive dragon. It's awe inspiring, his form lingering at the entrance, unsure if he has come across some place he is not supposed to be.
Cryosanthia is one of the sith-makar, nestled up against the hot-rocks. Leaning against them with, she has her head down, although her eyes are open and she's watching the flames. Hearing Ezil, she looks his way and waves him over.
Well, it's seemingly 'time for tail lessons' or something. Kae's asked for them before, and the draco-taur is now seen trotting, well cantering? Prancing? Into the camp, smiling happily as she looks around... Ever since her change these folks have been marginally more aproachable... then again, well, she didn't really seek them out lots till after she got changed.
Kae pauses as she makes it into the area and looks around curiously, her arms held straight out to the side before she wobbles them up and down some.
Ezil catches sight of that movement, Cryo's colors making her easy to recognize as he carefully treads that way. With quiet words, he raises a hand with a single wave. "Hello. White-One." using his name for her while he too takes a moment to look at the smoldering flames that remain of the fire. At the sound of another, he looks back to notice Kae, a nod cast to her with a small smile.
"Hello Blessed Follower of the Stars," Cryosanthia says, lifting her head. Her eyes seem to shine with the firelight. She also spots Kaelyn entering, and waves at the elf-drake-taur, happy to see her. She gestures at the warmth spots nearby. Kae tilts her head and gets closer, now here's the funny thing about the drake-taur, even as cold as it is, she's so not wearing lots of warm weather stuff, in fact snow that catches on her hide seems to melt and steam away..
Kae gets closer to the fire, and well sits on her haunches...
She beams and reaches into one of her 4 large saddle bags and pulls out a pouch... well it's a bag... In it? Well more pasties! She then opens them up, and well is seen tossing various pasties to Sith Makar She knows, and one to Ezil, and of course one to Cryo too!
If there's little ones around, they get sweet pasties! Yup, Kae is sooo good at encouraging Sith Makar youth to being well, as hyper as she is some times.
Ezil smiles, taking a sweet and finding a place by the fire to call his own, sitting near Cryosanthia as he gestures with it towards Kae. "Appreciated." he thanks, taking a small nibble, and looking back to the dying fire and it's diminutive light. "I was lost, but... not for long." he muses.
Cryo eagerly reaches for the pastie, dipping her head to Kaelyn, "Thank you scale-sister. Peace be upon your nest. It is good to see you here."
The white sith-makar smiles as Ezil settles down. She does have a lot of sharp teeth. "Finding here, or the other things? There was something you wished to tell me, I thought."
Kae sooo doesn't have that problem, just the incisors and next teeth back are sharp for Kae... She's nibbling on a pasty, and somehow being really sith whilst having a curiously Sith Youngling, like climb on her... *blink blink...* It's probably a good thing those scales on her back are massively thick, probably as good as many heavy leathers out there..
Kae then glances from Ezil to Cryo and back, then grins and pokes at the youngster's nose a little bit, then grins again and gets what appears to be some kind of thermos, well a couple of them. She also has some metallic cups, these having littel jewels in their bottom. She hits the gem, they glow and Kae pours some of the contents of the thermos into each one before offering one each to Ezil and Cryo... "It's chai, a spiced chai I fell in love with while working on an airship and living in Vandelheim." She says cheerfully.
Ezil hrms, the noise in his throat coming as he buys time by putting the rest of that treat in to his mouth and taking a long moment to chew. With a hard swallow, he offers a shrug. "Your scales are lovely?" casting that out there, though it's obviously not his original thought as he sighs and gives an apologetic smile. "I could share a story, but the Faring Tales say that the past has power, and I don't know if it's something I should speak of in this place." turning to watch Kae and how she plays with the children of Mictlan, taking that offered cup. "Thank you, Kaelyn. You're devices always astound me."
After a sip, Ezil looks down into his drink, swishing it idly. "Though I fear the tale will make me seem a coward."
"Thank you Kae, this smells delicious." Cryosanthia says, taking the cup. She watches the youngling climb all over the taur. She holds the cup under her nose, letting the steam drift up and flow around her snout. She carefully tastes it, "And deliciousness is confirmed."
Ezil's comment makes her rear her head up a little. She chuckles and sips her tea, then says, "Much appreciated. I do make some effort with them." The white sith-makar looks around, at the dragon bones, "The ancient one should be strong enough that the past has no hold, if you wish to tell."
Kae smiles cheerfully and begins to whistle now... She then gives the little one climbing on her a treet, and a pretty simple toy, it's one of those tubes with a cork you can make pop lots... The cork is roped into the back and a plunger shoots the cork out.
The little one runs off, making loots of pop noises with the cork thing and Kae grins again as she works on a second pasty...
Sooo yeah, I, when I has the time, been coming out here and trying to get lessons on how better to control this tail. figured if'n I'm gonna be this way I should learn how to control my self... Last time they kinda gave me wierd looks." "I come from The Vast, but it's magics... or whatever it is that controls that place is why I am here today. I don't know if it is a good path, but I am blessed by following Telmentar, even if I do it badly." Ezil imparts, one hand on his drink as he looks to Kae when she talks of her tail. "Might be wise. It couldn't hurt either." he muses, managing a chuckle as the children are watched as they run off to play.
Continuing some of the tale, Ezil speaks softly, his free hand making a gesture of blessing before his words. "I was to be like my father, but The Sea of Sundered Time took me. I was gone for months to my family, but for me it was but a day. My question, or philosophical wondering was about fate, as I have run from what I saw there every day since then."
"I can assist you, if you with. I shall have to touch your tail." Cryosanthia offers, looking over Kaelyn and rising to her feet." Grace is never squandered."
The white sith-makar stands, resting a hand on Ezil's shoulder, "You are not a coward for the things that happen to you, and some things you can only run from. This one cannot speak much of your bravery, I've only known you a short time, but in all your actions you seem resolute. What Caste was your father, and what did you see in the Vast?"
Kae shrugs at the Sith Makar.. "Well it slams into, brushes and bounces off of everything else, so it really dun bother me too much. Just keep in mind, my lower bit is rather heavily armored... And well big so thus very very strong... But I shall try to have control!" She says and smiles cheerfully, the tail wags.... "When I'm moving it isnt as much of a problem, it does move to my moods but really just does what it's supposed to.. oh and I've noticed the mechanics of my lower body is much akin to a catl... or I guess it's full on dragon, I dunno!" She says and waves her arms in the air...
Kae then blinks and peers at Ezil curiously....
Cryosanthia moves over to Kaelyn, nodding to her description. "Tails do that, they tell your thoughts and secrets. You move like a large lizard. I shall take a guiding stick and use it to help your awareness."
She hunts around, finding one of the rods used by the caravaners. She moves to Kaelyn's rear, out past her tail and keeping an eye on its arc while she does. At arms length she taps the elf-drake-taur's tailtip, normally a very sensitive spot. "Focus on the fire, your sense of self. Do you feel this?"
Ezil laughs at the two, motioning to Kaelyn with his free hand, sipping at his chai. "Don't give me a face like that. It's all in the past." trying to dismiss a bit of his unease. To Cryo, he answers as she helps the Drago-Taur with her balance. "My father was an expedition guide. He knew the lands and how they shifted. I was to learn to take people through the Vast like he had, but I never returned home. It's been near six years." casting a second shrug. "They still think I am dead, but that's because we were attacked by the tribes that roam there. I escaped death in to one of the doorways, and through too many others to count. I saw the seasons change, and trees grow before my eyes. Finally I came to the hill of my destiny. Six doors, all of which but one showed a reflection of myself, but grown. Death, and destruction. Sloth, anger, and vengeance. I saw the darkness inside myself... and I watched the futures that awaited me." looking up at the two and then sipping his drink. "I chose the door of nothing, the one with no reflections. I rejected the other doors, but feel those pulls tug at me. I gave in to anger just the other day, Ignis may of been quick to forgive me, but I am not."
Kae's tail is poked... Kae looks back at Cryo and blinks "Nope not the light poking, not really at all.." She says and tilts her head. The end of her tail terminates in a slightly curved spike, this also having a bit of a reinforced bit at the end, along with the top of the tail having heavy overlapping plates. Lke something built to use the tail to strike things.
Kae then umms "MIght wanna poke juust past the armored bit, I'm sure I'll feel that." She says cheerfully...
Kae then umms "Oh My fire? Oooh sense of self.... Really my body's like uuuber alien, but I'll tryyyy!" She says cheerfully, the tail twitches, and then jerks a bit, hitting a rock and bouncing off it, the rock rolls and Kae really shows no sign of that actually having hurt..."
Kae then peers at Ezil curiously now and tilts her head whilst watching...."
Cryosanthia watches Ezil as he speaks, eyes unblinking, her face pointed directly at him. "You chose the fate unknown. Many would have grasped any suriety, even a foul one. That is brave. Regrets... never leave, they become easier to ignore. Your anger, is power." Her gaze drift up to the giant bones and then the embers before returning to Ezil's, "It is an egg, you must hatch, to turn it from a blunt club to a fine blade, so that it serves you and not you it. Ask the anger, where do you come from?"
The advice to Kaelyn is a little more practical. As suggested, Cryosanthia taps a little further up on the tail, ahead of the armoured spike-ball. She is as far away from the tail as she can put herself. "Think a happy thought, it moves most when you do. This is a part of you." Tap-tap.
Ezil finishes the drink, standing to walk it towards Kae's things, setting it there while Cryosanthia goes about her instruction. "I wandered, and used what little teachings of my family I had. I followed the stars, and Althea was to whom I prayed. Telmentar guided me, and the All-Friend as born on the road. I am... giving you the cut version of the tale." he muses, watching the two as he thinks on the Sith-Makars words. "I would rather be a shield... but I understand your point, White-One. Even if we speak lots of eggs, and nests."
Poke, poke, and well yeah, Kae's tail twitches when she's poked in a more sensitive area, it's big, long, thick heavy and well a 'twitch' then Kae blinks and tilts her head... "Ooh Happy thought!!" Ummm.. suddenly she grins and thinks well, about little ones, specially the ones she comes and plays with on a regular basis, that tail actually wags, lots....well lashes, it's too long to do a normal wag, but one gets the idea!
"Your anger made you strike, yes? Shields are not born alone. Hatch it, to see why it moves your sword arm." Cryosanthia says, making a small sinusoidal movement of her head, nuzzling the air in Ezil's direction. "You are the Blessed Follower of the Stars, fortunate that they gave guidance."
Cryo very swiftly jumps back as Kae's happy thoughts translate into deadly force when they get to her thagomizer. "Yes. Stop. Did you feel the sweep? Look to where my rod is, the swipe was this far. Is your sense of space this large, your thought went this far from where you had it."
Ezil chuckles as he finds a perch to sit upon, his eyes taking in as Kaelyn tries to learn grace of tail and foot. "Well, yes. I am to protect those who cannot protect themselves, or who could not." he explains. "The boy that day had a darkness in him. His miasma was like that of the devils, and he even wished the other children near him dead. The devils attacked the children after, seeming to bend to his will or desire." he explains. "He was not born with that darkness, the demons, or someone else had turned him that way, but I was enraged at what I saw. I helped slay the first one, but as the second called for mercy... I sent him back to his realm. The child was my concern, separating him from the devils. I had hoped to lessen his taint. Or the chance of the demons inflicting more."
Kae blinks and umms "Well it just kinda moved, like I was suddenly happy, and giggly, then well it like litterally translated my emotion into instant body language." she says and rubs the back of her neck and siiiiiighs, then huffs "Imma sooo gonna have to learn how to restrain this body when I have strong emotions..." She mutters and put sher hands on her 'hips'. She then umms "Ooh yeah, I can conciously control it, but well it's when I loose any concentration and just kinda let it do its thing..." She then demonstraghts by raising it, curling it over moving it about, slowly carefully and all so as not to cave someone's head in then even brings it to her self so she can tug on the end some.. "See? But if I loose aaaany focus.. It then has a mind of its own!" She says and siiiighs.
Kae then peers at Ezil... "So you were dealing with Demons spreading taint? Mebe I should quit worrying so much about this changing thing and work on the taint thing instead?"
"I have only Speaker's wisdom. I am a hollow cone that sounds pass through, and become louder. I do not have the roots. Let me think." Cryo does so by pulling the rod up to her chin, holding it there with both hands in a pose that is something between contemplative and prayerful. It doesn't seem to be working. Perhaps adding movement will help.
"That is good control. Here, try this. Move your rear quarters to here." The white sith-makar first directs Kaelyn by some futher taps on her hindquarters so she is positionned with nothing near her. Cryo slips herself beside Ezil and with her presence nudges him away from the elf-drake-taur, then arms length from herself as well. "Ok, now do as I am."
Cryo starts 'skipping rope' with her tail, coiling it around and under her feet, jumping over it each time. She leans as she does, causing the galloping effect of a child pretending to ride a horse. She keeps skipping. Her tail comes close enough to Ezil he can feel the air move.
"A demon, a devil called for mercy? Both fiends were present? They do not usually work together?"
Ezil moves with Cryo, smirking at her as she situates him and begins her exercise. Feeling that air from her movements and control brings a look of surprise from his face as he watches her tail swirl and her body shift and bend in that coordinated grace. "I... I did not know you were so agile. Remind me to be careful of being on the wrong end." he muses, his glance going to Kae to watch her attempt, if she tries. "The boy had two demons working with him, and I do not know if they answered to Yukia, the servant of the Mistress in the Shard Tower. The boy had stolen a relic called the Ancient Spark, and I do not think he decided to do it alone. Once we dispatched one demon, the other begged for mercy as the boy tried to flee the scene. The boy was caught, and I.... well, we weren't able to question the devil." already admitting he slayed it.
Kae blinks and tilts her head, then ummms and starts trying to do just what is suggested? She manages one hop then steps on her tail with her hind quarters, and flails! "Ayeee!" Sher then pauses and siiiighs "That hurt, too bad such a fatt-butt had to step on my tail.." She's serious right? She tries again, this time the tail catches her a forelimb and she ends up on her side... NOpe not very coordinated either...
Add to it, well, her tail is long, like any other quadroped draconid, it's extremely long, like nearly half her total length, had she had a long neck and a muzzle...
Instead, she has elf torso...
Kae pauses, smiles and moves over a bit further to the side, of course this whole thing is rather amusing to the kids who are watching and cheering her on as she again tries, and again falls and again tries and so on and so forth...
Cryosanthia leaves Kaelyn to practice and entertain the young sith-makar, executing a few more skips before finishing, standing tall and relaxing. She's close enough to Ezil now she has to tilt her head and look down at him, with a warm smile for the flattery. "Younglings do not travel far from the nest. It is unlikely he acted alone or without supervision, how would he know of the Relic? Look to the nest-mother. As for the demon..."
She sits on the rocks surrounding the dying fire, her tail carefully coiled over to the side. "Do you think it's words would be true, or more deception? Might it be playing your heartstrings to weaken you, and attack? What bargain would it have asked, freedom? Was it truly slain, or simply returned to its plane. You are upset you chose the unknown again, worrying the what might-have-beens."
Ezil looks up at those blue-hued eyes, following her to sit on the rocks as he listens to those words. "That were my thoughts, but the others thought what I did was folly. I don't know what was the right thing to do, White-One." shifting as his glance goes from her to the smoldering embers, and back to her with a shrug. "You're right. I chose the unknown and it is not I who had the doubts until I was told I did wrong." his words thoughtful, slumping back as he tries to relax, looking upwards towards the sky where the bones almost dare to touch. "Fear and doubt have no place in the All-Friend." he muses, a hand extending as he lightly pats her curled tail with a soft smile, dropping his glance so he can meet hers. "Thank you, Cryosanthia. You're wonderful."
"There is not much time in battle to think all the thoughts. Staying your hand may have helped, or not. Decide how you will act next time, now, so you move without regret." Cryosanthia says. She holds her gaze with Ezil's, the colour in her eyes a sparkling shade of so many blues, split by her black pupil. Eyes which look like gems, and like gems have a hardness to them. She puts one hand on Ezil's hand on her tail, large and leathery it feels more like a gauntlet, with her other hand she squeezes the pouch around her neck and blinks at the same time. Eyes closed she says, "We all have regrets. One must hold on and let go."
She opens her eyes and places them in her lap, the edges of her mouth curling up. She points at the fire and pats Ezil's thigh, "Pick two embers, name them as your fear and doubt. Watch them fade till morning and tell yourself they are gone inside as well. This one is glad to have helped, I try."
Ezil had watched the dying light reflect in those eyes, the shifting hues of blue leaving him without words. With a bit of time his head gives her a single nod as he hears her words. His glance is like a summer moss, but he can not keep that gaze long, her hand upon his causing a slight flush of his cheeks. It's that scale against his flesh, the contrast her hand feels against his that sends his arms to goosebumps.
Looking then to the fire, his smile is as warm as the dying flame, eyes searching for those sparks to call his own, the ones he shall let die in place of his doubts. With her hand patting against his thigh, Ezil can't help but give a huff of mirth and a single nod of his head. "You do not know what it means to have a friend like you." leaning to rest on her shoulder, simply slumping into her. "I will try to find no regrets."
Cryosanthia lends Ezil the shoulder. She is solid, her lean build hiding the gravitas of the sith-makar, which is felt in the support she gives. One can believe she is descended from dragons, up close her breathing is audible, like a beast. When she is still, there is a sense of a crocodile in wait for prey, immobile and ready to explode in a moment. She tilts her head down to bump the side of it against Ezil's, "This one will wait with you."
She winks, "Also, the tail is very sensitive. Be wary whose you touch, the sith-makar will call you names, or worse.
Ezil returns that bump of heads, pressing his against hers so that she can feel some resistance in her lizard nuzzle. "I am glad for your company, and I will be mindful of that. I meant no ill. I saw you touch Kaelyns tail and... well it matters not what I thought." he muses, resting again against Cryo's armored form. "It will only be your tail I touch?" he teases, looking back at those flames and focusing once more as he speak softly. "I won't make it a habit, but thank you for the comfort all the same."
"She does not know herself and I used a stick. It was to teach." Cryosanthia explains. She nods to the rest of his words, but does not reply. Sith-makar communicate with each other in ways besides words, and while some of it may be lost on Ezil, some still comes through. You're safe. You're protected. You have a friend. This one is here. "Watch the fire. You may sleep here when it's time. The ground is cold so I will find you a blanket. Sleep near the rocks and Kaelyn, she makes her own heat. When it's time. Till then, watch the fire."

Ezil
An averaged sized human with long grey-white hair pulled in to a warriors-tail is here. His skin is a dark-olive, tanned and sunbeaten as it lays worn over his sharp features. Green eyes stare about his surroundings, his lips usually in a neutral expression when idle. He is not broad, but nor is he slender, his form and shape being rather unremarkable in size.
His clothes are colorful, but he wears a cloak of dark grey. often being seen with a set of banded mail that has its metal plates painted purple, and wearing a shirt of burnt orange peaking from the gaps. His sword belt has a sash of sky-blue sewn to it, and where it buckles there is a cover that hides the clasp in the emblem of the evening star. His leather pants are made from tanned hide, and dyed to match his cloak. His boots are worn, and covered with the speckles of dirt from his travel, a simple pair, but sturdy, and having a patch on the left toe from wear of the road.
