- Title: Meet Me at the TarRaCe
- Emitter: Cryosanthia
- Characters: Cryosanthia, Zeke, Faranmidahn, Mikilos, Seyardu
- Place: A03: The TarRaCe
- Time: WWednesday, August 18, 2021, 10:54 PM
- Summary: Cryosanthia has called several friends to the TarRaCe to help her through the earlier events of the day, and help them where she can. Seyardu is a little on the outside, having only a brief encounter with the sane and lucid Fey Queen and not weeks, months or years in the presence of her nightmare dream state. Of them all, Mikilos is the most stable, suggesting that his missing memories are a boon in comparison to the other three. Lily is happily eating Nachos, having taken her first steps towards being a God slayer. Cryo focuses on Zeke, his is most disturbed at the news, sadly almost neglecting Faran, whom she still attempts to physically comfort. The Fey Queen would not apologize, and did not come for them, and while not expressing gratitude for being freed from her prison, does not wish to think about what she did during that time. This is the best analysis Cryo can up with, she does not think of that time, or them, and has no interest in the Makari Pair, no Mikilos, Faran, nor anyone else that opposed her in dream-reality. She has not one word for them. She was present to deliver a warning to Alexandria regarding Eclavdran. That was it. The discussion moves to the Demon Duke, and Cryo has heard enough of him and wants to skip it, so she insists Zeke accompany to the TarRaCe baths where they swim and more, as cihuaa. The mating pair departed, Seyardu shares the scroll she was given by Salina. Mikilos expounds on the nature of the planes and his understanding of the genesis of Infernal Outsiders and the difficulties with slaying them. Faranmidahn is supportive and uncertain. Entanglements with Salina and the Demon Duke cost her father, for little benefit this far.

Inside, this two-story structure has been almost completely opened up. Generous windows on both stories allow daytime sunlight and cooling night breezes to flow in as needed, while the brick walls have been whitewashed - contrasting with the dark-stained beams and supports, and the rich polish on the wooden floor. A broad strip of stone runs from the entrance to a framed doorway set into the opposite wall, with a sign above the lintel declaring that the baths are to be found that way.
The ground floor is sprinkled with tables and chairs of assorted sizes, offering welcome to guests both large and small. One whole corner of the building - into which guests are not permitted entry - has been given over to the kitchen, which serves as the domain of the famed monster chef Ligum Serforus. Mundane meals are available, but the chef delights in offering up obscure dishes made from the freshest of monster ingredients.
Opposite the kitchen a small bar runs in front of an array of shelves, displaying a broad selection of beverages (most of them alcoholic). The bar-top has been fashioned from what looks to have been old pieces of armor, fused and welded together before being polished to provide a near-smooth finish. Set above it, three human-sized statues have been built into an alcove in the wall: Tarien, Rada and Ceinara jointly keep benevolent watch over the room and its occupants.
To the right of the entrance, a small stage offers a platform for a handful of performers at a time. To the left of the door, a spiral staircase of wrought iron winds its way up to a balcony dining area, that is chiefly reserved for special events and parties.

It's been a day of strange weather. Rain, followed by hail, which transitioned from small pebbles to large stones that could punch through canpoies and roofs. Down by the docks, the harbor froze over. As well as more of the ocean. It was as if winter had struck Alexandria, out of the clear blue sky in the middle of summer.
Some adventurers know, winter had come. Endless Winter. Salina the Fey Queen, met far out to sea at the closest point she dared approach the city without harming it.
She's learning.
Others may learn about her reasons for attending, and what she had to say, if they find the right people who were there.
Cryosanthia is sitting at a table in the TarRaCe with an untouched drink in front of her and a thousand yard stare. Lily is on the opposite side, with a large plate of fruit and nachos and working her way through them.
Terse messages have been sent by messengers. Meet me at the TarRaCe - ~Cryo~.
It didn't take long for Zeke to arrive. Any message that sends for him is an urgent one if sent by the right person. Cryosanthia, is certainly one of those people. He arrives with haste, glancing from her to the youngling who is eating and though her gaze is distant he is glad that the youngling is well. Almost anything else can be dealt with. He sits close to her and hums low in his throat a comforting sith sound and offers his presence at her side. His calming scent. Her lack of one concerns him. "Cihuua?"
It was only just barely that Seyardu managed to reach the docks before the ice was too thin to walk. Thankfully, her new bag was completely waterproof if it wasn't opened. Her movements were sluggish, but more from shock than cold. The offer was accepted in person, she needed time to relax after everything that had just happened, after warnings and threats and worry. shortly after Cryosanthia was situated, she too entered the building, and she made her way over, with the lingering scents of worry and panic and concern that betrayed her attempt at stoicism. She walked to the table, offering Lily a pat on her head, and Cryo and Zeke a swish of her tail.
"Peace on your nests, Cryosanthia, Zeke. Apologies for taking so long." She greets, looking between the two.
Cryosanthia snaps out of her reverie, wool-gathering put aside, as if a switch flipped and she is now 'on'. She relaxes, breathes, rumbles a throaty purr at him, turns and nuzzles her cheek against his, simply inhaling his scent, inhaling him, feeling him.
"Zeeeeke." She breathes, staring at him with wide pupils. Her breath chuffs, short exhales. "Zeke. Don't worry. Everything is ok."
"Peace on your Nest, Seyardu." She says, sounding grateful, before focusing on her mate again.
"Zeke. She returned. She caused the weather."
The doors open again, allowing a small figure to enter the Tarrace. The terse nature of the note, coming as it did in wake of the atypical weather, set some manner of concern in her mind about the matter at hand. She stamps the weather from her fetlocks just inside, then proceeds along, seeking the table where her sister is likely sitting. Skirting waitstaff and milling guests alike, she ultimately finds the gathering sith and affords them all a, "Peace on your-!" She staggers to a somewhat bewildered stop as her line of sight sweeps across the return of....
"Zeke...?" she murmurs in a dazed tone, "You're...?" this with more volume if not surety as she continues hesitantly moving closer, "You're back....?" The flutter of her hand, an urge to reach out, to solidify what her eyes are telling her, restrained by the oath she made so long ago.
For them at least, there is only one 'her'. There is only one. He stiffens, fear lancing through his scent though he manages - barely - not to show it on his features. It's the best he can do. Suddenly he doesn't know what to do with himself, the strength that he's built over the last year seems weak beside this knowledge. He remembers the chill of the ice falling from the skies and does not doubt for a second Cryosanthia's words.
His name drives him to his feet, up and defensive, his tail lashing around him. His eyes wide, but... it's Faranmidahn and his eyes darken. His sorrow swells. He murmurs a prayer to himself in draconic. Half-words barely spoken. He can't... can't think. He needs... "Give... thissss one.... a moment." He needs it.
Seyardu watches for a moment before she looks away and nods. It was only the fear that makes her look up and back, flashing concern across her features. She too looks to the door, but she finds Faranmidahn at the door, who she waves to. "Apologies if this one is interrupting. Peace on your nest, Faranmidahn." She greets.
"Of coursssss..." Cryosanthia says, drawing out her words, sibilating them, breathing slowly. She's oddly warm, which is to say a titch below room temperature and not a dramatic thermoclime generating her own mini-weather pattern. At least, frost.
Her scents are strong, forceful. An egg-watcher on duty, signalling this space is safe. She leans against Zeke, so he can feel her, sense her presence, that's she's calm, is secure, here, now.
"Thisss one is here."
"Peace unto your nest." Mikilos intones formally, hands up and empty as he appears at the foot of the table. 'My appoligies for spying. I wasn't fully certain the message was from -you-." <draconic>
He needs a moment, and he's glad of the calm scents in the room. Glad of the peaceful presence of Cryosanthia at his side. Zeke calms himself with low even breaths. There is nothing dangerous in the here and now. Nothing to be done about what has already passed. Cryosanthia is safe. Lily is safe. He forces himself to sit down and relax by inches. "Peassssssce on your nessstssss." Zeke hisses, his words tense. His teeth flash as he speaks, betraying his agitation. "How? How isss ssshe here, and why?"
Seyardu was still reeling from what had just happened. Despite her assurances, she had just stared down an immensely powerful being, asking them to apologize for her actions. So she was more than a bit jumpy, and the sudden appearance of the wizard made her jump in her seat, falling back off it. But she was back up quickly, shaking her head. "Ah, peace on your nest as well, Mikilos. Is is, unless I am mistaken, Salina?" She offers in explanation. "With, a warning."
"Tia Faranss!" Lily greets the little Lucht happily, waving a clawful of cheese covered nachos at her. She scooches sideways on her seat, which isn't right-sized, but seems to have been stolen from a taller bar table and allows enough space that Faranmidahn might share it with her. "I ssshotsss Sssalina!"
Cryo thrums at Zeke, rumbling in her throat and resting her arm across his shoulders. Her tail aligns with his. Her hand squeezes, feeling his tension. "Not for ussss. Ssshe isss gone. Sshe hass left that life behind. She brought. Warningsss. And how...?"
"Thisss one doess not know."
Faranmidahn's gaze sweeps between the members of her little family, open concern revealed as the bewilderment fades. The ill-ease, sadly, confirms certain realities and the tiny knight sights low and soft before forcing a smile to the table, "Peace on your nests, everyone."
She whirls on her heel as Mikilos appears so close at hand, nerves putting fingers around steel before her conscious mind even knows to say, 'Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!'.
A sigh, tiny steely fingers unwraping from leather wrapped hilt, then, "Master Mikilos... how are you?"
Ahem, "What's happened?"
Zeke is silent a long moment, looking at Lily. Her excited utterance is like a lighning bolt to the sith-makar and he shudders. He has no answers himself, but it seems that the others do, and he is driven to further silence by their responses. "It ssseemsss that the weather we had wass created by the..." He closes his mouth, shuts it with a sharp click and he grinds his teeth. He looks at Cryosanthia. "How can you be ssso calm cihuua? Thisss one... Thisss one thought her gone forever, thisss one thought that SShe would never return and now..."
Faran, gifted with the power of magic from her very blood, a bond strong even among sorcerers, is forced to use magic to shield her from the sun by the toll taken in her albinism. This comes with the happy side effect that most troubling climes are as comfortable as a spring day to her, but the sound of that name.
A name repeated by her niece in anything even suggesting a potential conflict turns her spine to ice, "What?" she gasps.
At once, perhaps afeared that the fae queen is coming to take more out of her through some illusion, or simply 'auntie was late for the booboo' rushes over and reaches out to hug ans search the carnationscale for injury. So flustered is she on the matter, than she relies on her mundane senses to that end.
"Thisss one, thought all thosse thingsss." Cryosanthia says, careful and calm, snaking her head around to stare into Zeke's eyes. She's seems almost drunk, the way her eyes are wide, but there is no scent of it on her. The euphoria is from another source.
"Thisss one faced her, Zeke." The whitescale says, "Full of fearss. It all comess back. Thisss one contained hersself. Thiss one gave her no more emotion than sshe gave thiss one. The feelingss... were sstrong, but thiss one did not break."
"Sshe delivered her messssage, thiss one ssaid. Ssshe would not go. Refusssed her by name. Ssalina sshowed no reaction. Not what we remember, from denying her." Cryo noses Zeke, rubbing snout to snout after delivering this. A gentle contact.
"Seyardu asked her to apologize. Little Fang, wonderful Little Fang, beat her to it, demanding one."
Lily squirms and giggles as she's examined and Faran gets some nachos in her hair. The little carnation scale is unblemished, at least as much as she has been to date.
"Peasssce on your Nesst Mikilosss. Hello Faran, Sssalina returrnsss."
"To warn Alexandria that the Demon Duke isss here, sstridess the sstreets. Of rebellion ssung in the Iron Hellss. Sshe holds her hatred of him for desstroying her people, sstill." Cryo tells the table, then nuzzles Zeke once more.
"Sshe did not come for usss."
Mikilos nods. "She awoke, her dream self and her true self are alike, yet very different. Her waking self I do not fear. Eclavdran... he concerns me."
It makes no sense to the blue-scaled sith. None at all. Yet, perhaps Cryosanthia was right. Perhpas Mikilos was right. Perhpas Salina was not the same one that had held him and Cryosanthia. If she had not harmed Lily... But he could not trust it. He allows himself to be relaxed, finally pulling back a little and looking at the others. "Thiss one apologizesss. Thiss one... doess not know what to make of all of thisss."
Faranmidahn can always wash her hair. The bathouse is only a brisk trot away, after all. Relieved, she hugs the kobold tight and kisses her, "Oh, honey, I'm glad your safe! You have to be very careful around that-" a hesitance, "woman."
She relaxes, then looks to her sister, taking in her words and smiling with radiant pride that Cryosanthia was able to face her tormentress with willful courage. She glances to Zeke, trying to guage him, who's also suffered so horribly at the Winter Nightmare's hands. The memory of seiging her tower to retrieve him.
Retrieve her mother.
Retrieve numbers of captives.
Her chin dips, and her eyes vanish 'neath her bangs as she remembers who they couldn't bring back.
"Nor-!" she starts, her words undulating between a choked quarter and half octave, ahems, then, in a more steady tone continues, "Nor I."
Seyardu says, "She said, she was at the port due to not wanting to harm those in the city due to a sudden winter. That she was learning." Seyardu says while reaching for a menu. "I would not know what to make of it either, to be honest. Right now, I am just happy nothing worse happened. I was not thinking."
She looks to Faranmidahn, and tilts her head. "It seems she has done much to most of you, too much. It was rash, but I just wished she would answer for the hurt."
"Sshe sseemed older. Sshe iss not.." Cryo turns her head to gaze at Mikilos, nods, then looks back at Zeke, "... not the dream we lived with. It iss over. Sshe iss free."
"Mikiloss frreed her. We freed her. We freed ourssselves. Sshe will not come for usss." Cryo nuzzles at Zeke again, rumbling at him once more. Her scents surge urgent, strong. "Thisss one. Hass had longer to think on it. Longer to accept it."
Her head turns now, and she stares at Faranmidahn, makes a small gesture to the knight. Come closer. That horrendous battle. What happened cannot be changed.
Nor it seems, will it be apologized for.
Leaving Cryo to find her way forward, unassisted. She can bring her mate and her sister along. "Sshe doesss not... feel anything sstill. Sshe iss still the weather. Sshe will not heal usss. We have to, oursselvess."
"She makess ice talk." Lily adds, the little Kobold trying to eat the nachos out of Faran's hair now.
Mikilos nods, and sighs. "I understand Her position. Not agree, but understand. She did not harm. Her dream did. She need not appoligize for a dream. Though in this case, her dream was a nightmare for others. I know she didn't mean to bring harm, but still."
Faranmidahn takes a moment to square her thoughts, her emotions. She straightens, a wrought stoicism in her face as she nods to Seyardu's words, not yet trusting herself to speak again for some few more seconds.
She starts toward Cryo as she silently beckons her foward, though curtailed by the slight tug of the snacking kobold at her hair. Her eyes lower some at the state of Salina's circumstances, and "Yes..." she says distantly, "She's free now."
"Her wordsss could not heal usss." Says Zeke. "Perhapssss ssshe knowsss that for sssome they would ring too hollow." He shakes his head. Does not know if there are any words that could begin to heal the hurt in his heart. The things that he couldn't forget. He rubs his claw over Cryo's claw and shakes his head again.
"Then, I will hope that was her intention. Most I have seen, apologize for their actions when their mind is taken however. But this sounds more complicated than that." Seyardu notes, feeling more out of place by the second. "At least, with hope of a concern being needed less, it will allow you all time to think and heal. I hope so."
Cryosanthia hisses soothingly to Zeke, towards Faran and Lily and becons again, ready to scoup up both Lucht and Kobold in an embrace. She wants to hold them so firmly.
"Thisss one would have taken. 'Sssorrry'. Or 'thanksss'. Or 'fare wells'." She murmurs to Zeke, "anything to clossse the book. Yet sshe cannot ssee what Lily can."
Another long exhale, a trilling, the press of her tail against Zeke's, "No wordsss. No ssoothing. Nothing. Ssshe iss nothing to usss Zeke."
"Sshe wass our sun and moon, our life and breath. Our nightss and death. Our everythingss. Now, sshe hasss not one word for usss. Ssshe has loosssed usss. What livesss in our mindss, iss what we can't let go."
"Her words were only for Alexandria, about Eclavdran." Cryo sighs, "it isss hard, but ssshe doess not define usss any more. Missstresss no more."
Mikilos sighs. "At the time, I was disappointed to not taste the memory fruit, to leave my time in the tower locked away. Now, I think I may be better for not knowing."
Faranmidahn twists a little bit to collect the nommy little kobold in her arms, though, to Seyardu, she notes, "The Winter Queen...." speaking of ice, there's.... oh, yeah, there's still a little bit in her voice, "...is a being outside the mortal realm."
She finally moves up to Cryo at her sister's insistence, the ghost of a word barely parting her lips, "Father..." <halfling>
Without a word Zeke shifts, so that Cryo can take the others into her arms, so that when she does, he can envelop them as well. Yet his eyes do not leave out Seyardu. For though she feels an outsider, she is still one of the People. "We are of the People. We have long Memoriesss, and do not forget the painsss of the passst easssily." His words are an intonation, and he begins to thrum, thumping his tail in time to the words. Ancient words, spoken through time. "We are the People, we are sstronger together. Ssstronger in Memory. We grieve asss one. For we /are/ one. We are the People."
"No, you don't." Seyardu admits, shaking her head and sighing. "You still speak that way despite the pain Cryosanthia. Move past it with the knowledge you have now. This one knows it might be hard to accept, but yes.
"This one is sorry, the only one here who has no experience with this winter queen. All I can offer are vague assurances and suggestions. I should probably go, to leave you to sort through this together."
Cryosanthia embraces Faran and Lily. She pulls the close, lowers her head over the Lucth, and simply hums. Lily gets the message, snuggling and wrapping small arms around Faran. "Thisss one. Isss sso sssorrry. Faranss. You sshould never have had to choossse."
Cryo remains like this, simply holding them for a while, within Zeke's embrace as well. They are enclosed in walls of scales. Her voice joins his, "Ssstronger together. We grieve asss one. Ssstronger in memory."
It's not a wake, it's not a funeral, it's not a memorial. Yet it's something necessary, for memories hauled up from depths attached to an anchor long thought lost. She was gone, she came back, she's gone again.
Nothing has changed. Everything has changed. Except the past, frozen in ice.
Cryo raises her head, still holding the others and nods slowly, "thank you. For your wordsss to her. For assking. It iss.. not ssomething thiss one wantss to open up."
There's so much to unpack. She has a giant iceberg full. Three.
Mikilos remains still and quiet. He doesn't understand. Not really. But he has the barest glimmer, and that's more than most. "...there's still Eclavdran. I... have an idea. Maybe."
Faranmidahn is engulfed in the embrace, in turn curling her arms around the little soul in her embrace. She sighs softly, kissing scales before she speaks, "No, don't leave... not over me." She clears her throat and listens to Zeke's song before she looks perhaps with some reluctance to Mikilos, "I'm listening."
"Do not go Seyardu." Zeke thrums again, shaking his head at the other sith. "You are welcome." His voice is a deep bell, and he squeezes those in his arms once. He smells better now. Calmer. More at ease now that he has had a chance to come to terms with his fears. "Besssidesss, you do not wissh to misss out on thisss talk of Eclavdran do you?"
It was as before. All the talk and comfort of family was only a painful reminder and source of confusion for her own. "From talk of one powerful being, to another." Seyardu chuffs. "I guess I should stay. Since I have that scroll they gave me. I do not know if it is safe though."
"Thiss one doess wissh to miss out." Cryo hisses firmly, releasing her hold on Faran and Lily, turning and stretching her neck, chuffing at Zeke. "Thiss one worriess you think of him all the time, never relax."
A bit of a teasing lilt slips into her voice, "Thiss one hass arranged the bathss to be private tonight, jusst you and thiss one. So we might go swimming."
She turns, looking at the mage. "Mikiloss can explain hiss planss to Faran and Sseyardu."
Cryo noses her carnation-scale, "Lily, you help out in the kitchen, get Ssassa all the bones. Help the chefss with the food."
Cryo rubs her cheek against Zeke's once more, firmly. Rumbling at him again, "Sswim?"
Zeke huffs a low chuckle and rises to his feet. "Thisss one will have to sshare wordss another time it ssseemss." He does not seem at all loathe to go. Indeed, he willingly helps chase off Lily to the kitchen and takes Crysoanthia's claw. Leading her away from the others after a polite low nod to those assembled. "A ssswim sssoundsss good. You are a wissse cihuua Cryossanthia."
They leave for the baths and a private swim in waters much nicer than the Tornmawr.
Mikilos chuckles a little, waving as the two depart. "Have fun." Turning to those who remain, the elf sighs. "Demons are, usually, all but impossible to kill. Hard enough to destroy their physical body, but then their essence returns to the infernal lands and grows a new body. A process that usually takes years, if not centuries. But for a demon lord, defeating them in the first place is hard enough, and they have the resources to get a new body distressingly swiftly..." Make sure everyone has a grasp of the problem.
Faranmidahn shifts her position a little as the embrace loosens around her. She smiles a little more truly, with a quiet, "Thank you."
She looks to Seyardu and her smile becomes wan, "He's a terror." is the abridged version. She lets lily go with Zeke with a little kiss, then hugs Cryo before the cihuaa head off for the baths. The little knight looks between Seyardu and Mikilos and, "I remember my sword bouncing off even just his whip...." she notes.
Seyardu watches the two and Lily go. "This one understands." She admits, the sadness palpable. She was planning on going to work through her thoughts in the baths later, but that wasn't an option now. It seemed she would need to go elsewhere to be alone. She wanted to leave that moment, but she listens to the explanation of Mikilos. "So, they are almost impossible to kill. I am told to flee if I even see them. I likely can't injure them without special magic." She states simply, shaking her head.
Mikilos nods. "Cold iron can help, but even lesser demons are powerful foes. Typically, to destroy a demon, have to venture into hell itself, track down the essence of the demon there, and destroy it on it's own turf. even then, the demonic essence is freed into the Hells to become other demons. One of the reasons the heavens typically don't launch assaults into hell. But the skill and memory of a destroyed demon is gone, so is sometimes worthwhile." The wizard frowns, and considers a few moments. "But... if instead of destroying the body, transform it into something else. Turn a demon into a chicken. So long as the chicken remains, the demonic essence is trapped."
Faranmidahn nods with a sort of distant, almost nostalgic humor to her expression as the discussion of answering demons is broached. It isn't a comfortable topic to be sure, but she carries on, regardless. As Mikilos frames a solution she hadn't even imagined before, she blinks owlishly and puppyheads a little with a, "You can do that?"
"That doesn't sound like a good idea though." Seyardu says, sighing. "You now have them still around, not dead, and it wouldn't be that hard for a determined group to track them down and free them."
"There was a scroll I was given by the Winter Queen. If you want to read it, they said it may be relevant."
Mikilos nods. "Technically, I can transform almost anything into almost anything. Demons into chickens, chickens into dragons, dragons into gems. But that spell doesn't always last, and many things resist magics in the first place. It's not a perfect solution, but one worth considering, I think. Anyway, yes, I'm quite interested in what the scroll has to say."
GAME: Faranmidahn casts Detect Magic. Caster Level: 8 DC: 14
Faranmidahn frowns a little, "It may do to examine it, first." she says in consideration.
She glances at Mikilos, then closes her eyes and her hand starts to go through a series of little gestures, "Magic forces, sweeping earth to sky, reveal your flow to my focused eye!" <halfling>
As they reopen, her eyes have taken on a bright pink glow, but doesn't immediately look anywhere but the floor directly in front of her yet.
Her lips purse as she considers the possibilities of such powerful magic, wondering at the forces involved, even trying to imagine their colors, but aloud, she notes instead, "I've only recently learned how to turn myself into other people, or make people smaller, I'm afraid, and neither for very long."
Seyardu opens up her bag, pulling out the scroll she had been given so recently. It didn't seem to have any effects on it, and Seyardu waits for approval before opening it.
"It's an option to consider, yes. And any potential options for success are worth quite a bit, with so few options." Seyardu notes. "There is so little I can do as it is."
Mikilos smiles to the pink eyed Lucht. "I've been casting spells for over a century. Give it time." A nod to Seyardu as well. He eyes the scroll with intrest, but waits for Faranmidahn's all clear.
"I've... only been doing magic for a couple years, now." Faran says thoughtfully, still concentrating on maintaining her spell. She reluctantly turns her attention to the scroll and squints before the light in her eyes suddenly stops, "I... think it's ok..." she says, seeming a little more with it. She looks between the two and shrugs, "The last time I tried that spell around Sally, it blinded me. I... kind of expected a scroll she'd give us for Eclair would be... something to behold." Ahem, "Oh... it's been said demons can read your thoughts if you name them, so... I don't use his... or hers, for that matter." Old habbits die hard.
"It's not a bad idea, Faranimdahn." She says, finally opening up the scroll. It wasn't magic, it was simply, a poem. written in infernal script.
- A pillar stands in the sky,
- Amid the fires of hell.
- The sky is filled with ashen snow,
- Lonely tolls the final bell.
- Here a shadow stretches,
- Across the land.
- The many eyes of evil open,
- And the hourglass fills with sand.
- In the heart of the world
- Lies a beasts broken heart,
- Soul of shadow ripped asunder,
- What was one has torn apart.
- We who were mortal men,
- Now are immortal sin.
- Calling out with numerous voice
- Cacophonous din.
- The hourglass fills with sand,
- Slowly drifting us past time,
- Across the land,
- And the many varied planes.
- Lonely tolls the final bell,
- Friends torn apart,
- Amid the fires of hell
- The demon stands in victory
- We will finally be free.
- - ~ <Infernal>"
Mikilos nods in understanding. "She is fey, not demonic, but many of the same rules apply. And I rather doubt is his True Name, just one is known by. Still, a wise precaution." As the poem is read, he frowns, considering. "And this is from Her? I have to assume is more than mere mental imagery. But the real meaning I can only guess at so far."
Faranmidahn frowns and shudders, "I think I have an idea about... some of that." She shakes her head then runs a hand through her hair, blinking as it pauses before she gives a wan smile and says to no one in particular, "I'm ok, sweetie, don't worry." She draws her hand forward to find a glob of recongealed cheese, chip fragments and dribble in her tresses and she sighs.
"Did Eclair maybe come from a mortal? Maybe so twisted about he became a demon then just kept... I don't know... eating other demons and taking their power?"
"I believe, someone told me before. That ah, Eclair was summoned with time magic for a purpose by an elven city. It wouldn't make sense to be written in infernal though, but that may explain the mentions of the hourglass." Seyardu offers, but it was unsure. She was always unsure.
"I should go though. I am sorry, I know this is important, but I need to leave, and try to parse my thoughts."
Mikilos nods. "SilverMoon used to Tower to go back 1000 years, bind him to fight Her. Which is what made Her their enemy in the first place. But yes, it's a lot to take in, and time has been short. Rest, consider, we can meet up again later."
Faranmidahn reaches out a tiny hand to gently touch the Sith, "No, no, it's alright it's... a lot to take in."
A Titan against a Titan....
The little knight smiles warmly and, "Do what you need to, but, if you need us, don't hesitate, ok? I'm either at the Chapterhouse of the Purple Rose in the Noble District, or they know how to reach me if I'm errant."
She frowns to Mikilos's explanation and sighs, nodding, then, back to Seyardu, "Peace on your Nest, walk in the Hunter's favored winds."
"It is too much." <Draconic> The silver sith-makar says in another tongue. She looks off to the baths. All the talk of being the same people, and it was the same. She still felt as far apart from the people as usual. It was probably selfish. She shakes her head, and sighs.
"Peace on your nests, Mikilos, and Faranmidahn. I will keep that in mind. This one is sorry for not discussing it more."
And with that she was quickly out of the TaRaCe, her menu forgotten. Her appetite was gone anyways, and she needed to find a place to cry.
Mikilos looks to Faranmidahn. "As for a mortal soul becoming a demon... I don't know. That might be how it works, it might not. I've heard tales to suggest both, but definitive information on how demons come to be is rare."
Faranmidahn watches Seyardu leave with no small amount of sympathy in her eyes. She's seen that posture, those eyes, before. She knows what it means, even beyond the plain spoken trade of the suffering silvercale's apology. She'd fumbled her way through reassuring others, before, she hopes Seyardu is blessed enough to find a capable soul soon.
She sighs to Mikilos and runs her hand through her hair-on the other side, "Aside from those two coming out of the woodwork... how have you been?" she wonders.
Mikilos chuckles. "Aside from everything being awful, things are great. Really, was fairly quiet and calm before the news hit. all the Resurectionist stuff has been a mess, but it was a step removed. This feels personal."
The Knight nods as her hand leaves her hair and she replies, "It does at that..." She frowns and continues, "I... don't know what to make of the Ressurectionists or their quest, honestly... I've been largely kept away from it with my responsibilities, but... I know the time to have a side is coming..."
Mikilos nods. "I have my beliefs... but there's a massive amount we don't -know-. Things told or assumed, but not confirmed."
Faranmidahn nods, smiling ruefully, "We can't have anything be too easy, can we...?" A sigh, then, "I... should get back, I need to break the news to Mother before the rumors do..." She waves a little hand and, "Be well, and walk in the Hunter's favored winds."
Mikilos nods. "Good night, and fare well."
