Normal Day pt 5
Grush unslings her hammer from her back and steps forwards, eyeing the satyr carefully "We found 'your' treasure. And we're taking it. You looking to start something or did you just want to compare?"
GAME: Grush rolls intimidate: (18)+8: 26
After giant ogres, being made to safeguard a murderstatue made of gold which may well mean that the thing is worthless. There's now a sober Satyr with a big honking hammer in front of the group. Valkea's expression, already tinged by the onset of a hangover, goes right to exasperated. One hand pinching the bridge of her nose while she checks the pouches lining her hips. "We are so over this." she mutters while looking for her bola.
Shara simply whistles as she spots the satyr. "He's prolly pissed that he's sober now." She says as she draws an arrow. "This....will end well. Yes...that's sarcasm."
Sarcis looks to Grush, giving a smile as she tilts her head. A crinkle of her nose as she slides an arrow free from her quiver and nocks it with a giggle, "Oh this is going to be /fun/." She draws it back, "How do you like your odds, hoofy? Because I like our odds. I like them very much."
GAME: Sarcis rolls Intimidate: (6)+11: 17
"Well, I wasn't exactly expecting to see all of you back so sooooon, but I'll take it. I'll be taking the statue, by the way. It's not somethin the lot of you can handle well, not well at all. In fact, I'm surprised you made it back in one piece! More power to you." He raises his hand and says, "But if you're thinkin' you can violence your way past me," he smaps his fingers and stomps a hoof, and the sound of tinkling bells accompanies it. He pauses, as if this was an unanticipated event, and then snaps his fingers again.
Again, only a small, tinkling sound.
"Well, hahaha... this is unanticipated."
Behind him, four images shimmer into view. Dark clad warriors, wielding blades that look to be made of darkness itself, faces hidden beneath cowls.

Sarcis has her bow out, and then she looses an arrow, it probably would be lined up well but then Grush careens into her line of attack and she lets out a yelp of surprise, yanking up on the grip and loosing the arrow off into... well off into the wild blue yonder really.
For his part, the Satyr is staring at the warriors who've arrived. Staring so hardly he actually only stumbles out of Sarcis' way more than anything else. "Oh no," he says.
Meanwhile, the warriors advance on the Alexasndrian advernturers, lashing out at them. Valkea is able to narrowly evade a swipe of a darkblade while Sarcis is in much the same condition.
Shara gets sliced along her midsection, leaving a trail of burning, inky blackness across her midsection that causes her excruciating pain.
The Satyr raises his warhammer and... attacks one of the warriors.
"These aren't /mine/," he roars. "Dark ones, you'll not have it!"

Sarcis reaches back, stepping quickly away from the creature that took a swing at her. "Hoofy is telling the truth - that they're not his at least." And she draws an arrow, nocks, looses, and then another in rapid succession. She's been practicing. The first struck hard, but the second slams in harder, jamming right into one of the cracks that formed by the first hit. As it drives in, the cracks spider outward and it bursts into a cascade of glass-like fragments that are each a dusky hue, almost like they were made of darkness.
And that's when Valkea is swung at again. Again, the ranger is able to evade the strike while Sarcis isn't so lucky, the inky black blade /sinking/ into her chest and leaving an agonizing, burning wound in its place. The blade is twisted as the fey warrior pulls it free.

Granit swings in follow-up, but goes high, blade whistling over everyone's heads.
With everyone seeming to pile on her attacker, it gives a good deal more confidence to Valkea and her attacks, slashing upwards with that longsword and making that same shattering noise of glass being cut and breaking. With the last of them gone it just leaves the Satyr left. With a huff to catch her breath the half-elven ranger just frowns at him. "Are you seriously going to try and stop us taking this statue to somewhere safe? I kinda swore an oath that I'd make sure it doesn't get used for anything evil."
"The same sort of evil you seem to be representing." Sarcis says with an arch of a brow, "You know, the sort that steals casks and then sends /other people/ to do your dirty work?" She has her bow drawn still, one arrow in her hand and the other already nocked onto the bow. She's aiming at the Satyr.
Grush exhales heavily. resting her hammer on the ground and stretching before holding out her hand to the Satyr "It was a pleasure to fight along side with you, perhaps we can part on good circumstances? This statue is going to be locked away somewhere safe. Please, do not try to interfere further"
"...ahaha, I was actually going to takle the statue and leave you with more scotch but -- "
Hey, remember when ther Guardian said 'RARGH' to Sarcis?
Well, 'RARGH' seems to be coming true, at least to Sarcis. That big statue you hauled back has /started moving/, stretching as it shakes off the dirt and dust of ages. Multiple blades are beginning to be drawn.
"Oh /hell/," says the Satyr.
"Aw dammit." Shara groans. "This is getting to be more trouble than it's worth."
Grushs face falls as she hears the statue start to move "Oh come on..." she looks up at the Satyr exhaustedly "Is this your doing?"
Shara says, "Stop blaming the Satyr. He didn't do this.""
Sarcis looks toward the guardian for a moment, and her smile grows further still, the eyes slide back toward the Satyr, "Ohhh, you had better hope it's not me. Because you are definitely my enemy, Mister fuzzy butt." She wiggles her crafted eyebrows and lets out a giggle. "No, no it's not him who did this. Unless you mean sent us here."
Grush sighs again and puts down her hammer. Walking over to stand in front of the statue with her hands on her hips "Alright, I don't know what you think you're doing but no one has any enemies here. You have no purpose, so just, go back to sleep or whatever"
When she hears the Statue coming to life Valkea just pinches her brow and shakes her head, Blue eyes check to see who is bleeding and if any of it go on the thing. there's a look for the goblins stuck doing the haulage. "Move boys." she calls out in goblinspeak before looking back to the statue. She did make that vow after all. "All our enemies are dead you know, you can stop." she says.

Granit leans on his polearm, and watching, somewhat disprovingly. He eyes the satyr. "So, why is the statue mad at you?"
"No! It wasn't suipposed to get activated /now/," groans the Satyr.
"And I don't think you'll have command, dammit!" He points a finger at it as t he multi-armed golden statue's blades begin to get raised. It's advancing towrds you and then Grush is n front of it.
It raises its fist and backhands her out of the way, sending her hurtling into the wall. "There's a control rune on its back! And it's not mad at ME, you nitwit! Decativate the rune!"

"Hey, Hey! I said go back to- GWARP" Grush tries vainly to get in the Statues way, letting out a pained grunt as it casually sends her flying into the wall with a very solid thump
Control Rune? Okay, Valkea starts moving behind the statue and sees the thing while it's taking a big swing at Grush. With a hmm and a nibble of her lower lip she gets to work.
And doesn't drop anyone down a hole this time. Disabling and shutting down the metal attacker before things get worse.
There's a big sigh of relief on the small ranger as she looks over at the others. "We so need to figure out a more permanent way to disable it." she states.
Shara says, "Blow it up?""
Sarcis sees the the Satyr, "I don't really care! But you aren't getting any closer to it." As Valkea moves forward, she trusts that she'll take care of whatever is needed to be done. The one arrow is still nocked, the other in her hand, and in rapid succession she shoots both - planting them just in front of where the Satyr stands. "Don't you dare come any closer to it. It's /ours/, you fiend." A grin, another wiggle of her eyebrows.
"Grush win?" Grush groans dizzily, struggling to try and stand but apparently unaware that she is upside down
Granit looks meaningfully at Sarcis' quivering arrows. "So, talk to us about shutting this thing off."
"It IS shut off. She shut it off. For now, anyway. I'm not sure whgen it will wake up again. Perhaps it'll need more blood to be shed in its presence?" The Satyr lets out a sigh, puts his hands up. "as you like." He puts his hammer down. "I was really hoping I'd be able to bring that home to the war. Alas. Depart." He steps aside.
Grush staggers to her feet and stumbles over to lean against the statue "war?"
she is trying to look casual but her eyes are still a little unfocused
"Let me guess, more of those things?" Valkea asks as she collects her bola, coiling it up to more easily extract and throw it again when needed. Once in pouch it's secured like the rest of her weapons.
"It doesn't matter." Sarcis says as she reaches for another arrow, seeing the Satyr put his bow down she refrains for the moment and glances through the party. "All that matters is that he talked of treasure he would /share/ but he was planning on keeping for himself, and not a treasure at all but instead this statue. He //lies// and speaking half truths." A grin as she looks back to the Satyr with a dip to her tone and a hum to her words, "And I should know."
"Oh, I'm defintely /made/ of lies, my dear." He wiggles hsi eyebrows back at Sarcis, "but you've bested me this day. I'm not really sure how you managed to get back from the guardian in one piece. HIs club is pretty spikey. Welp! I am going to go. Best of luck dragging that heavy gold statue back to Alexandria! Toodles!" And he's starting to back away.
Granit nods slowly. "Maybe it's not shut down enough." He nods slowly. "Well, yes."
"A-hem!" Sarcis calls out, "The whiskey."
Shara says, "Lets go.....before anything else happenes.....""
Grush says, "Oh nonono, you aren't slipping away that easily" Grush takes a few steps forwards, stumbles a little and then moves back to lean on the statue again, breathing heavily "You just, stay right there, we have questions!""
"In all honesty, he probably didn't expect a half-elf to out drink him." Valkea points out. "That doesn't change much though. This thing is a weapon. And shouldn't be deployed, even in war. For now we should find a place where we can store it till we can shut it down." with a look to the goblins she waves them along. "Cmon, we're leaving." she says and accompanies them and thr group. "By the time we're out you guys can finish the interrogation." she adds and moves with the goblins' pace when they get moving. They still have all
The goblins, who'd been hiding, are still eyeing Sarcis with waryness. THEY DON'T TRUST HER. Valkea seems nice, though.
Grush sighs waving her hand dismissivly at the Satyr "Fine, just get out of here. Next time you wan't something, try being honest and just asking for help."
Sarcis stares after the Satyr for a moment, then it's over at the Goblins, "Help us out, I mean, we already promise you're living. So just help us get this back to town, yeah?" A smile and she starts over to the statue as well, her hands reaching out to help pick it up and carry it.
"That wouldn't be anywhere /near/ as entertaining," are the Satyr's last words before he flees all together.
Grush looks over at the Goblins "Do we really need to hold them? I don't think they deserve jail time for this."
"And I'm not sure they would help much carrying this thing" She grins at the Goblins "No offence"
"They got conned. Think of it as working off their debt" Valkea says, sounding much less bitchy that she started off. She might actually sound nice to them as she leads the goblins out as they do most of theheavy lifting. the Ranger not even going to try while he has the whiskey in her pack.
Grush does her best to take most of the weight of the statue, and not step on any of the Goblins "Well, nothing like a bit of community service, you all happy with that sentence?"
