Scene and Plot Characteristics

Scene Timing

Evenings and weekends US Pacific.

Scene Size

3-6 players. I cannot accommodate more than six players.

Plot Length

I run mostly one-shots and short plots/adventures. My scenes may extend into multiple evenings, but rarely more than two.

Combat Content

My events always have at least one encounter, although I may choose to do more than one encounter, and I may choose unusual encounters that are RP-based such as haunts, chases, or puzzles. Some encounters will be combat, but by no means do I guarantee that all of them will be so.

Death Consent

All of my events are DC by default.

Scene Content

Personal Plots

I am not especially comfortable with this, as a rule. You can ask, but I am likely to refer to the better long-form storytellers.

Plot Style

My plots run to dungeons, ancient ruins, and the creepy places of the world. I will at times deal in heavy topics and dark and mature themes, although if I include mature themes, the event will include a content warning in the description.

I am a believer in the ability to tell a good story over the roll of the dice, so if you have an idea, ask!

Policies

Pose Order

Outside of combat, each player may pose once before I have posed again. Order is not important. In combat, pose according to initiative order.

Late Arrivals

I appreciate promptness, believing that punctuality is a sign of respect for others' time.

  • For announced late arrivals, page me when you log in, if you will be less than an hour late. If you are more than an hour late, I will try to work you in, but that may not be possible.
  • For unannounced late arrivals, I grant 15 minutes' grace before seeking backups, if I need more people to run, but once I have enough, I will close the scene. If you arrive after that time, you will not be included.
  • If too many players are signed up for a scene, players who are in my experience chronically late or routinely prone to extended AFK are subject to being dropped first.

AFK

If you are AFK when your combat turn comes up, I will skip you after five (5) minutes. If you speak up anytime between that point and your next action, I will move your initiative to be the next one, wherever we are in the order, and you will act when the current player has completed their action. If the entire round goes, and the same player is still AFK when the initiative comes around again, they will not receive EXP for the encounter.

Re-Roll Policy

I grant one free re-roll to all players who are available at the stated start time. You will be told if you made the cutoff and receive one for the evening. Re-rolls may be used for any one roll, but must be requested before I announce the result of the roll.
