The air of solemn, heavy divinity in the area is often broken by laughter. The dual presence of the deities Althea and Daeus, man and wife, stand towards the center, with their children and their children's temples positioned around them. The presence of the divine is felt not only by their temples, but also by the actions of their worshipers. The great plaza is as a social center, paved in brilliant, white flagstones and covered in benches and sitting areas. Priests, acolytes, and servicefolk of all stripes roam the plaza, going from one task to the other. At the front of the temples of Daeus and Althea, at the Plaza's centermost point, rests a great fountain, the cheerful waters reflecting the Sun during the day, and the Moon and Stars at night. The fountain is strategically centered, and is oft a place for wisdom and lesson-giving. It is not uncommon for a priest of some stripe or the other to stand there, surrounded by the curious and faithful, delivering messages of hope or contemplation. At other times, it and the plaza become a landscape of celebration of the holy holidays. Few vendors are seen in the plaza--the nearby temples provide most food or services. Towards the west, the great Bridge stretches across the river, and towards the east, the Redridge mountains. The plaza rests in the midst of it all, the temples massive and grand on the Alexandrian scale.

Munch peers a moment before tucking in his wings, rasing a hand in greeting, and meeting Seldan halfway. "Nothing since we got back. 'Good job, we'll look into it.' or whatever they actually said. I wasn't really listening."
"I see. I fear that after the gate, what we left behind should not be left for long, and already has it been a season or more." Seldan and Munch are talking in the middle of the square, while Munch stretches and folds his wings. Do I make inquiries, would you venture again into those caves?"
Munch shrugs. "Sure, it's not often I find something can cut loose on without people getting upset about it. The illusion stuff was annoying, but willing to put up with it all."
Shalethiste travels along the thoroughfare in fair humor despite some of the looks her sort get, and endures the humidity with effect grace. It will be Her time, soon, and the air will cool, after all. Meanwhile, still newly arrived, she takes a certain tourist-y survey of the place when gatherings of larger folk allow such vantages, anyway.
"That was a place of chaos, thanks to the demon gate. With it gone, it is my hope that we find less of that, in our return." Seldan nods his agreement. "Who knows what has taken its place, though. Se should be prepared for anything.
Munch glances to the passing Mul with idle intrest. Quite a few around the city, but not exactly a normal sight. Turning focus back to Seldan, he nods. "Might ahve all kileld each other off, nothing left worth fighting. Might be why hasn't been mentioned again. Also possible they just misplaced the paperwork."
Shalethiste continues her journey, making note of the Temples and gracefully sidestepping a passle of running children. It's during her evasion however, that she notices her recently acquainted peer, and so she makes her way toward Seldan and his... interesting.... vestiged... Sith(?) friend, "Hail, and good day, Seldan!" she offers pleasantly before bowing her head to the intriguing other, 'And a good day to you, as well!' <sildanyari>
'Perhaps. I have not forgotten the breeding chamber.' Seldan turns at the greeting from the mul'niessa, and offers her a smile. "Her light upon your path ... Shalethiste, I believe? Were you able to locate the Guild?" <sildanyari>
Munch nods to Shale. "Good day, or 'Aeiou bark aaa las leaf'.... or whatever you said... something like that. Anyway, nothing wrong with breeding, I'm told. Not built for it myself but have been assurd it;s perfectly natural... sorta a cornerstone of nature, really."
Shalethiste's eyebrows all but steeple behind her bangs as she walks into an interesting conversation, "May Her melody sound forever." she says at first, then tries to stifle a smile behind her hand, 'I have, thank you, though it seems my timing holds true.' She lays a hand on her heart and bows her head to the winged one, 'Close enough. I an Shalethiste, it's a pleasure to meet you, sir...?' <sildanyari>
The wargolem's comments elicit from Seldan a decidedly embarrassed flush, and lowered eyes, his discomfiture quite evident. His mouth works a couple of times. but ... what does one say to that? Nothing comes out.
Munch doesn't wear pants. That's not important, but still true. He also thumps a fist to his own chest. "Munch, the TerrorMaw. How do you know Seldan, miss Shalethiste?" he asks, either oblivious to, or ignoring Seldan's discomfort.
Shalethiste spares Seldan a look of sympathy, though she does find some good natured mirth at his discomfiture, "Nature, as Art, has many expressions of beauty and wonder." she says, maybe to give her fellow Silver Guard a little support. She regards Munch anew and smiles, "We met in the Sky Singer's Temple." she offers, upnodding toward the temple of Eluna, "And yourself? Boon companions, I suspect?"
Kira emerges from Althea's temple once again, this time without her basket. A change of duty? Imperfect batch? Whatever the reason it is handled or in the process of that.
Seldan coughs a couple of times, but regathers himself. "We have done work for the Guild together, a few times, including one of my more recent journeys. A thing left unfinished. We were exhausted, and resting in there was not safe."
Munch nods. "Could have kept going, but not safely. I mean, going in the first place wasn't safe, that's sorta the point, but there's difference between dangerous and just stupid, and we were getting towards the later."
Shalethiste nods, her expression becoming more serious, "A prudent choice. Courage fills chronicles, while recklessness fills graveyards." she says softly, "Is there perhaps some aid I could provide? Does the threat persist?" She doesn't notice the woman emerging from Althea's Temple just yet, as she looks between the two close at hand, at least as any more than another devout soul going on with her day.
Kira's smile broadens when she sees the winged rescuer is still present. "Thank you, again, for your help." She then turns it to the woman she doesn't know. "Hello." Last is a nod to Seldan. "Silver Guard."
"We know not." Seldan smiles politely at Shalethiste. "A purple worm is a mighty foe, though, and not one to be undertaken lightly. These had been consuming things from Thul's realm, and we know not what they have have become." He nods agreement to Munch, but it is to Kira that he turns his attention. "Sentinel, it is well to see you on your feet. Are you well?"
Munch shrugs to Shale. "We don't know. Got back, Guild took the rport, said 'Good job' and havn't heard about it since." He buzzes softly at Seldan. "Meh, doubt it was that. I eat demons and undead all the time, and I'm fine." He seems to actually believe that.
Shalethiste looks to the woman as she closes to make her hail and affords a smile, though her attention is briefly snared by Seldan's explaination. Then, a little wide-eyed, is it taken by Munch's words. A blink, and, drawing from Seldan's honorific, "Eluna Light your Path, Sentinel." the Mul says, hand alighting on her head as her head bows, "I am Shalethiste, of the Silver Guard, it is an honor to meet you."
Kira turns a little back to Shelethiste with her smile and dips in a curtsey after the introdcution. "I'm Kira, Sentinel in service to The Healer. It's a pleasure." She turns back to Seldan, smile flattening as she shakes her head. "I am healed, but not well."
Seldan levels a -look- at Munch. "You were made, and are not flesh and blood, living though you may be. These are not so. I would not be so quick to think them unaffected." That's a brief aside, and all trace of everything but concern fades from his features. "What troubles you, Sentinel, and how may I be of assistance."
Munch shrgs to Seldan, and lets the matter slide, turning his focus to Kira as well. "Is it the eye? I know a guy, he upgraded mine really well. Sur could work something out for you too."
Shalethiste is pleased to be so well met, though her delight is subsumed in a wary sympathy as it seems all is not well with Kira. She looks between the others on their responses, but, hard experience has taught her that in this, perhaps assertive care is less appreciated from a stranger amongst the company of friends, and so she stews in concern.
"The eye isn't so much a problem anymore," Kira grants to Munch, a bit of wistful smile forming, "butdon't know if it is safe for you to speak with me. I am marked, as she is, as Zeke must be. Demons or worse could appear at any moment, or She might force me to aid Her in some other way."
"The eye isn't so much a problem anymore," Kira grants to Munch, a bit of wistful smile forming. Her lips purse as she looks back to Seldan. "You could explain why you accused Cryosanthia of terrible things... but I don't know if it is safe for you to speak with me. I am marked, as she is, as Zeke must be. Demons or worse could appear at any moment, or She might force me to aid Her in some other way."
Seldan stops short, his entire demeanor immediately going impassive, even, and cool as he frankly -stares- at Kira. "I swiftly begin to learn who I may name a friend." He turns fully on Kira, slowly, his gaze completely level as he regards her. "Do you approach me and seek to learn the truth, without accusation or judgement, Sentinel, I will answer you truly, but if you cannot find it within you to ask before making judgments, then I shall not waste my time."
Munch perks up, looking around in intrest. "....demons could show up at any moment? I mean, there's always a chance, but there's an above average probibility?"
Shalethiste's concerns increase tenfold, shored up with alarm. A glance to her fellow Silver Guard, to the Sentinel, back. 'She' could be of only a small sorority in the Mul'iessa's mind. One, in particular, tops her list of suspects. She looks to Munch to try and guage his reaction, before turning her eyes to Kira. Seldan's words ensnare her intent and she tries to weigh them, their carriage, with a furtive glance to the Sentinel, "I would entreat a peace, here, though I must ask of this, as some fel forces are perhaps at play. Mayhap, we have this discussion away from our charges and so avoid mass disquiet?" she intones, gesturing toward Eluna's Temple.
Kira isn't angry or agitated, though she isn't pleased, either. She is surprised, though, by the sudden turn in temperament temperature. Surprised, and saddened, judging from her drooping expression. "I call you friend, and hope you would do the same. I didn't accuse, I didn't judge, I only asked. Why?"
She glances to Shalethiste and her words, derring to her wisdom with a nod. "We can speak more privately. I don't want to cause any upset." As for Munch and his sudden interest in demon's arriving? Her expression gets a little more strained, though she doesn't comment on it.
Munch blinks at Shale with a soft click, metal flaps closing for a moment across magicite eyes. "....okay, my vocabulary has grown a whole lot in the last few months, but I'm still very much invested in the profession of 'break things, hurt people', aka barbarian. So if you could rephrase that in simple words, I'd appericate it."
Seldan's gaze does not change, and he holds up a hand to the others. "Did she express remorse for the reckless act that placed hundreds of innocent people in danger? Did she tell you, when she spilled her hate for me, that she summoned me to see the revival of a friend, that she might demand that I summon a demon for her? An act that, were I to do so, would cause Eluna to turn her face from me? And laid into me when I refused?" He draws a deep breath. "Sentinel, there are things that I know, that none have asked me of, or cared to know. Among them is this: Eclavdran may be bound to Salina's whim, but he is also bound to her destruction. He cannot be defeated by strength of arms, and he cannot leave until Salina is no more. Those who summon him will anger him, placing all of Alexandria at risk. If any had asked me of this, they would know. None have asked, but I will tell you now, in the hopes of saving lives. Leave the Duke of Hell be. If the gods bless us, he will vanish when Salina does. If he does not, then shall we take up the fight at that time."
Shalethiste looks to the construct on his request and, deciding most of her past words were pretty small, translates what could have been the denser stuff as, 'Easy, now, let's talk about this demon stuff where we won't spook everybody.' easily enough without judgement. She simply overassumed the role of formality, but, then, as the discussion continues. A dark hand rises and extends out toward the halting hand of her peer, to alight there with a reserved, gentle, "Pray, brother, we do draw eyes. An it please you, leave us continue this in private ere we cause a panic." <sildanyari>
Kira opens her mouth to respond after Seldan's initial comments, but stops short as he continues. The further he continues, the more her expression changes from sadness back to surprise. And concern. "Silver Guard... are you well? I never asked of him, and I don't think it wise to call out his name. It would upset some, or maybe worse..."
She continues to look to him in concern as she answers, lower her voice. "Yes, she regrets that her attempt to learn something new to aid us all went as it did. I don't think she suspected that would happen, and didn't willing endanger anyone. Yes, she shared that you accused her of wanting you to break your vows."
Seldan says ""Yes, of course." Seldan looks down at the hand on his arm, and nods slowly. It's Kira's remark, though, that brings him back to her. "Refusal to name a thing but increases the fear of it, Sentinel, but I shall heed your concerns." He surveys Kira quietly, then turns on his heel and in the direction of the Temple of Eluna, with a "Her light upon you," addressed generally." <sildanyari>

Munch buzzes quietly, watching Seldan head off, then shrugs. "I think I followed maybe half of that. No demon fighting today, I take it?"
Kira watches Seldan go, quiet for a time and more than a little ... deflated. "I worry for him." She finally looks to Munch and shakes her head. "I very much hope not. Twice in as many days would be twice too many."
Shalethiste's hand lingers in the air for a moment as her fellow Silver Guard departs, seeming troubled, "...and... on you..." if reticent to press the matter, though she turns unquiet eyes to the Sentinel and Munch. She lowers her eyes a moment to weigh things, 'Are things truly so dire?' <sildanyari>
Munch considers a moment and shrugs. "I don't think so? There's bad things happening, sure. But good things as well. Roads have been mostly bandit free, Fel hasn;t be spewing out ant really weaird creatures recently, and all the trouble up by the ruins has been keeping put."
Kira exhales a sigh. "Things are rather dire, but there is still hope... so long as we stand together. I worry that the suffering inflicted may be turning many to fear or anger, and those will divide us."
Shalethiste frowns in thought, "Truly." she shakes her head and, more plainly, "I can't afford to jump to the wrong judgement." The Mul'iessa looks to the Elunian Temple, asiding, "I took neither side lightly." She just... didn't know what to do. A sigh and, "Perhaps we can settle in somewhere quiet and I can know what troubles this City?"
Munch blinks again, glancing around. "...The plaza -is- pretty quiet. But if you want private, can do better. Can't say as I've much more to add, so think will take off. Maybe find a bandit gang and make them regret their life choices."
"I ..." Kira pauses to consider that a moment and nods, if a bit reluctantly, "I can share what I know. Everyone should be aware, if just to be careful and try to stay safe." She gives Munch another confused look, but nods to him, too. "Be careful. May the Healer's Grace be upon you."
"And the Sky-Dancer's Light see you through the Darkness." the Mul'iessa adds as her own valediction to the construct. Shalethiste is not encouraged by her second day in the city, thus far, and has already found more dischord than she hoped in such a short time. Clearly, this is why she's here, "I'd appreciate that, Kira."
Munch buzzes. "It is." Stepping back a little, the metal man spreads his wings, and crouches a moment, before bringing his wings down hard and jumping, launching himself quite a few feet into the air. With a bit of distance to work with, he flies in a more conventional manner, circleing the plaza once as he gains speed and heighth before turning to fly off towards the mountains.
Kira lifts a hand to rub at her face as she looks around. The plaza is very familiar, but she seems momentarily lost. "Where would you like to talk,Shalethiste?"
Shalethiste barely has time to register the Golem's words as he surges his wings downward for liftoff and she gives a surprised yelp of surprise as her hand flashes in place to keep her skirt unscandalized by his downdraft. She looks up at Munch's ascent, a certain brief pang of wonderous yearning, before she turns her violet eyes toward Kira, "Wherever you would find comfortable... may I call you Kira?"
"Of course," Kira gains more brightness to her smile. She considers the fountain, but only for a moment before she looks elsewhere. She decides on the steps outside of Daeus' temple. They're broad enough that there is room at the edges away from pedestrians. Kira takes a set on the second step at its end."
Shalethiste smiles warmly and nods, though the skewed eye toward the fountain notches up an eyebrow behind her bangs, but dutifuly makes her way alongside the Setinel to a course... she honestly wouldn't have guessed. It does have the plus of being 'neutral' ground, as it were, though in truth, it could merely be the most convienient. She squeezes her scabbard back by the anchoring to her belt, and pulls it free before settling into place beside Kira, propping the sword on her shoulder so that no one trips over it, "Shelly." she says gently.
Kira looks to her after settling. "Pardon?" Realization, or at least association hits a moment later. "Oh! Your name... I'm sorry. I've been distracted lately." Even her smile is apologetic before she takes a long breath and lets it out. "What would you like to know?" It sounds a bit better than 'Where do I start?!'
Shalethiste smiles sadly, "Understandably so, it seems. I'm sorry." She drums a little random diddy on the scabbard with her fingers, then, "Our primary villains, I suppose."
Kira nods. That makes sense. She takes a moment to think how best to explain or describe everything in a way that would also make sense. "There is a fae queen. Of endless winter. To them, I think she represents death. Everything frozen, with no spring ever coming to thaw. She is very powerful. Immortal. Terrible. Some of us ...spent time with her, but I don't think any of us understand her, or what she wants. She is very strange, and terrible."
There is more she might say, and tries to find words to fit her thoughts, but seems to find none. "A demon is bound to her. He is also very powerful, and I think she's made him even moreso. I thought it was only the two of them, but a third appeared here yesterday. Others knew of her, but thought she was gone. They are evil creatures, and are easier to understand, but they do her bidding."
Shalethiste doesn't have anything to say at first, though her eyes are intent upon Kira as she explains. She's too old, too Mul'iessa to be overtly stunned, and too much a Silver Guard for common fear, though this... obviously her gears are doing some turning on this. "To be held by such an enemy..." her eyes start to melt as she speaks, reaching out for the woman's shoulder, "I'm so sorry...." There is a glance into Kira's eye and a reluctant, "She did this?"
Kira reaches a hand up to touch the patch lightly. A smile forms on her lips again and she shakes her head slightly. "No. This was my choice, before that, not hers. She took many, to a tower she'd usurped. Many brave people came later and freed some of us..." her smile fades "but many more didn't escape..."
She tries not to linger too long on that. "She no longer has the tower, but is still very powerful, and hidden. We have to find her to stop her. It's one more task after what we thought was a victory. There've been many lost, many defeats. It's been very ...trying."
Shalethiste purses her lips a moment and, at the touch, gives a little squeeze, "It's... never easy when we can't save everyone." She shakes her head, "Sadly... Evil seems to find it's way." She sighs softly, "Those people you named, earlier, they were also taken?"
"Yes," Kira nods, expression instantly saddening, "and for much, much longer than I was. Years. Decades. I that's what they experienced, though it was days for the rest of is. The Tower could move through time, and alter it. It was very confusing. All the confusion, frustration, anger, fear, loss... I fear many lose hope. Maybe that is what she is trying to do.... I don't know."
"Such a thing should not be." Shelly says softly. She considers the woman, her expression and bearing, but also her station. She isn't sure how such things are done in the city, between the different faiths, but, she scoots a little closer and slides her hand across and lower upon her back so as to not be quite as overt, though there is the concern that she's about to give offense, "It also makes this... personal strife all the more tragic."
Kira nods again, maybe a little absently as she sniffles once. Maybe twice. They may not be in the center of the square, but she should keep her composure at least every once in a while. "She will be stopped. I'm sure of it. We can't lose hope or we can't share it with others."
She turns her head to smile. There's a bit of effort, but it isn't forced. "Thank you, Shelly, for listening." If she was concerned about offending Kira, that might be proved misplaced as Kira tries to envelope her in a big, if brief full on hug.
Shalethiste, accepts the embrace, giving her a good squeeze to meet it. Too Mul'iessa to be stunned may have been overselling it, as there is a mild hint at first that she was rather surprised after all. "You're welcome, Kira... and you're right. If we hold true, hold together, we will win." she affirms. In a bare whisper, "I'm glad I didn't offend you."
Kira nods to the first, firmly, then shakes her head with a smile at the last. "Hugs are very powerful, to give or receive. That would never offend me." Her smile turns a bit tense as she notices the lie of the shadow from the fountain. "I'm sorry, but I should get back to my duties. Would you..." she pauses briefly to consider her choice of words, or whether to use them at all, " look after Seldan? I dislike what he did before, but I don't dislike him. I worry for him. The demon has come after him, and those he cares for, I think. He doesn't seem himself lately, as I know him."
Shalethiste looks into Kira's eyes, that there are such problems so near at hand already troubles her, but, "I will." she affirms. A sigh, then she considers the fountain, obviously a question there in her eyes, but decides, "My other questions can wait for another time." As with Munch, the Mul'iessa's hand settles at her chest as her head bows, "May the Sky Dancer's Light see you through the Darkness, Kira."
Kira rises and dips in a curtsey rather than any form of salute. "May The Healer's Grace be upon you, Shelly. It was wonderful to meet you." She then turns to move off through the plaza. At a hustle, as she realized she is a bit behind.

STARRING
Kira
This young woman is of average to slight stature, and her quiet poise doesn't make her appear any larger. What skin is exposed shows some weathering from sun and wind, but is relatively smooth. Her blonde hair is hacked short, somewhere between a pageboy and pixie. This exposes prominent ears that are only overshadowed by the brightness of her blue right eye. Her left is presumably missing, covered by a simple white leather patch held in place with a matching leather thong. Her remaining facial features are pleasant, but subdued, from button nose to full lips and cheeks.
If the woman seems mostly unremarkable, her clothing is entirely so. She wears a simple travelling robe of light gray cloth with a stylized rose dyed blue on the breast. A similar cloak worn overtop in inclement weather. Well worn boots and the bottoms of tan breeches are visible at times below the hem of the robe. The only visible possession is a large duffle carried over her right shoulder.
Munch
At first glance, one could be forgiven for mistaking Munch Terrormaw for some sort of lizard person, dressed in plates of armor. But it quickly becomes clear that the metal plates are embeded into the rubbery 'flesh', and mechanized gears and motors wirr beneath leathery skin. But while a 'normal' golem might be mostly gears and wires, Munch is more tubes and chemical bladders, pulsing with alchemic life. His head is draconic, with a deep vertical cleft in the lips, and a lack of apparent nostrils. Magicite eyes are pupilless, and glow faintly in most lights. From atop his head a large number of leathery dreadlock tubes hang down. Large dragon wing adorn his back, with delicate veins visible through the membranes.
He has little need for clothing, much of his body covered with mithril plates, and the 'skin' in between a durible material somewhere between leather and rubber. Though on closer inspection, it too is quite metallic, and covered with millions of tiny green scales. Munch often carries a pouch or bag, and is seldom seen without a massive battleaxe, usually upon his back, held in place by a number of small fleshy 'fingers'.
Seldan
There is something about him, if one is human.
It is not easy to pin down exactly what, though. He is not the biggest man, despite a warrior's physique, just shy of six feet tall with a frame more closely resembling that of a gymnast than that of a brawler. Fair as a spring day, with hair equally balanced between ginger and blonde that is grown out of a military cut to fall in his eyes if not disciplined. Ice-blue eyes with blonde lashes hold wisdom and kindness, set into features that are even, straight, and strong. But - in certain lights, and at certain times, humans might almost see in this Eldanar man a glimpse of what a warrior of the Millennium Kingdom might once have looked like.
The warrior theme is carried again in the full platemail that he wears, its finish not a bright polish so much as a shimmer that recalls moonlight when under bright light, and quiescence in shadow. Over the platemail hangs an open, sleeveless robe of midnight-blue with moon-silvery edging and celestial symbols and creatures picked out in silver thread adorning it, and a steel pendant bearing the symbol of a crescent and sphere. A set of gold bracers, depicting celestial symbols that match the symbols on the robe, encircle his wrists.
He wears multiple belts, one of ornate silver links, another a beaten leather affair with attachments for weapons. A longsword hangs from this, from a sheath on his left hip with an ornately-carved pommel and a guard designed in an ancient style, and a much newer-looking heavy mace on his right hip. A belt pouch completes the contents of the leather belt, and a sturdy cloak over all in midnight blue bears the crescent-and-sphere of Eluna picked out in a mosaic of thousands of tiny silver crystals on the back. A simple, unadorned cloak pin holds it in place. Over his back, the top of an elkhorn, wood, and steel longbow is visible, along with a quiver of arrows made of red leather and trimmed in white fur.
Shalethiste
Given to a sinuous frame of just over five feet of height is this young Mul'Iessan elf. Her skin is bluish black and soft of luster. Coppery hair pours in a full, nearly fluid mass over her shoulders and back as it flows down from her widow's peak, bangs cut arrow straight at her thin, slightly arched brows. Her violet almond eyes are long of lash, and frequently glitter in mirth. Emerging from that shimmering, elbowlength mane are a pair of sharply pointed ears that peak a good inch or two above her eyebrows level, embellished and pierced in artful silver.
Her voice is proud and vibrant, given to the faintest accent, perhaps Myrrish, or Charneth, though undertones of her native dialect wreathe along it like a vine.
Clad at the base in a calf length dress of midnight blue, slit to an acceptable balance of mobility before scandal. Over this is a shirt of fine chainmail, the metal shining the cold blue of the full moon even under daylight. A well tooled belt the color of the midnight sky bears a dagger, a small flanged mace, and several pouches along her right hip, while the left bears a long, jeweled scabbard, possibly a unusually narrow bastard sword, based on it's ornate, gleaming blue crossguard. A narrow buckler, tempered blue-black about a burnished and embossed symbol of the Sky-singer, is itself etched about the boundries with Sildanyari script of the Silver Guard tenets.
